The fictional history of the DC Universe is a timeline of the major events in the fictional DC Universe. DC has published several official timelines with publications such as History of the DC Universe, articles within their comics and dates specified within the comics and storylines themselves. This list should only include explicit dates and not conjecture or approximations. Due to the nature of the DC Universe this list will include inconsistancies and contradictions.

Absolute and relative dates are used within this timeline. Some specific dates have been recorded for specific events; these are shown as, for example, April 7, 1915. In the modern era, the timeline makes use of a "floating timeline" introduced in Zero Hour #0. The floating dates are relative to the present; these are shown as, for example, "five years ago."

The timeline is supplemented by an undated list of storylines in sequence along with their significant events. Not all storylines are explictly linked to a specific date or point on the floating timeline but the events procede in the sequence described.

Inconsistancies

The timeline of the DC Universe contains inconsistancies due to a number of reasons:

• Ignorance of established continuity.
• Changes to established continuity, known as Retroactive continuity.
• In-universe changes to the timeline.

The continuity of the DC Universe is made up of several comic book titles, written by separate creative teams over a number of decades beginning in 1938. As a result, the different creative teams may have established events in one source that accidentally contradict those in another source, creating plot holes. In some cases, the previously established continuity of an event or character may be deliberately changed for the sake of a contemporary storyline, leading to further inconsistancies in the timeline. Finally, due to the nature of the DC Universe, storyline and events may cause changes to established coninuity. Such storylines include Crisis on Infinite Earths (1985), Zero Hour (1994) and Infinite Crisis (2006). The events in the current continuity might no longer be the same they were when originally published. All events, regardless of specific continuity are included in this timeline.

The DC Universe has had at times included the concept of a multiverse, which further complicates the timeline. Events can occur in one universe but not another; or events can occur in multiple universes on different dates.

Storylines, events and eras

The in-universe continuity of the DC Universe has been changed multiple times. The result of this is that many events contradict or have been stated to have occurred on different dates. Where this is the case, these events are marked with one of the following notes to indicate their status and relevance within the ongoing history of the DC Universe:

• ^golden age : Dates or events established during the Golden Age of Comics or relating to Earth-Two prior to the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline.
• ^crisis : Dates or events established by the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline or established between Crisis on Infinite Earths and Zero Hour.
• ^zero hour : Dates or events established by the Zero Hour storyline or established between Zero Hour and Infinite Crisis.
• ^infinite crisis : Dates or events established by or following the Infinite Crisis storyline.

The details and date of the events marked may have been changed by subsequent storylines. Events linked to older storylines are not necessarily obsolete unless directly contradicted.

For example: Bruce Wayne (Batman) first appeared in Detective Comics #27 (1938) and he was originally described as being born in 1915. This was later revised to being "38 years ago" (on the floating timeline). In the same way, the murder of his parents was originally stated to have occurred in 1924. This was revised to "30 years ago." The timeline includes both versions of both events, each marked as appropriate for the era during which the date was "true."

Please also note the different fates of Joe Chill (the man who murdered Bruce Wayne's parents. During the Golden Age period, Bruce Wayne confronted Joe Chill but could not prove his guilt. Chill was subsequently killed by other criminals for being responsible for creating Batman. In the post-crisis pre-Zero Hour version of this story, Chill is killed in a confrontation with Batman <ref=Batman Year two> Batman Year two</ref>. This was revised following the Zero Hour storyline, from which point Batman never discovered the identity of his parents' murderer and Joe Chill was never caught. This was again revised during the Infinite Crisis storyline, from which point Joe Chill was arrested and sentenced for the murder.

Floating timeline

For more recent events, the timeline of the DC Universe has a "floating timeline." Events within the floating timeline are relative to the current date. For example, an event described as happening "five years ago" will always have occurred five years before the present. At the time of the Zero Hour storyline, published in 1994, "five years ago" would have been 1989. At the time of the Infinite Crisis storyline, published in 2006, the same event occurring "five years ago" would have happened in 2001.

The floating timeline explains why characters have not aged since their creations. For example, Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1 in 1938. He is usually depicted to be in his late 30's in fiction despite the character being almost a century old in reality. Superman's date of birth and the date of his first appearance are therefore described with a "relative" date rather than an "absolute" date. Within the fictional universe, Superman's first appearance will always be "10 years ago" (relative) rather than 1938 (absolute).

To help clarify this, all floating timeline years contain the following guide:

X shows how many years prior to the present the events occur. YYYY shows the relative year, that is, which date this would have been as of now. The relative year is automatically updated and will always show the date of the event as of the date on which the timeline is being read.

For example: The character Bruce Wayne (Batman) is 38 years old. Bruce Wayne's birthday is therefore recorded as "38 years ago." He will always be 38 years old, regardless of when a particular comic is published (unless the comic is intentionally set at an older or younger age for Bruce Wayne). He is 38 years old in 2009, he was 38 years old in 1999 and he will be 38 years old in 2019.

The relative year for this event is based on the current year and the "38 years ago" statement. Bruce Wayne was born 38 years ago. As of 2009, this means that Bruce Wayne was born in 1971. As of 1999, Bruce Wayne was born in 1961. As of 2019, Bruce Wayne was born in 1981. This is included as a guide for the reader regarding the date as it exists at the time of reading.

Timeline

Creation / The Big Bang

There have been several "creation" stories for the DCU. The current theory (which has been repeatedly revisited, as noted below) was first shown in the Brainiac story in Action Comics #544 (June 1983).

• Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Anti-Monitor appears at the dawn of creation to undo the universe. The Spectre, backed up by superheroes, fights the Anti-Monitor and allows the universe to be created. ^crisis
• Zero Hour: Parallax is defeated before time begins. The Spectre initiates the Big Bang through Damage. ^{zero hour}
• Our Worlds at War: Imperiex destroys the previous universe. He is sent back again with Brainiac 13, who helps recreate the Big Bang.
• The current universe is created by (and in turn creates) The Source.
• The Prescence initiates the Big Bang

The Dawn of Time

• Superman and Waverider leave Doomsday at the end / beginning of time, where history loops over.
• c. 20,000,000,000 B.C. – Dawn of Time
• c. 19,000,000,000 B.C. – The Endless appear into existence. They appear in order: Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair and Delight.
• 19,500,000 B.C. – The Prescence creates the angel Lucifer Morningstar to ignite suns, Michael to provide the energy to start the worlds and Gabriel to impose shape on the worlds formed.

• c. 18,000,000,000 B.C. – GodWorld is formed.

• c. 17,000,000,000 B.C. – Life begins to evolve on GodWorld.

• c. 15,000,000,000 B.C. – Humanoid beings on the GodWorld became known as the Old Gods and fought titanic wars.

• • Imperiex is reborn in the new universe and begins his eons-long destiny of remaking the universe again.

Billions of years ago

• The GodWorld is destroyed in a great war caused by the Old Gods' greatest weapon, Mageddon. The gods are killed, and the "Godwave" is unleashed on the universe. This creates forces in the universe (such as the Speed Force and the Metagene) that allow certain superpowers to exist. It also gives birth to new gods on planets all around the universe, including Earth.

• Mageddon is imprisoned in a gravity sink on the outer curve of space-time.

• The remains of Godworld form the planets Apokolips and New Genesis.

• Many of the then existing cosmic entities meet to discuss the ways and means of the universe. There the first Despair convinces Rao to spark life on the planet Krypton, doomed at the onset, and suggests that he should let one Kryptonian survive, in order that he might despair at the loss of his home.

• c. 10,000,000,000 B.C. The Oan Race begins on the planet of Maltus. A group of Maltunians with superior intelect and mental powers emigrate to Oa a planet in the center of the known universe..
• c. 4,000,400,000 B.C.
  • An experiment by the Oan Krona made to witness the creation of the universe, creates the Multiverse and Anti-Matter Universe; his people decide to atone for this accident by becoming the Guardians of the Universe..
  • The Guardians bind all the wild ¨random¨ magic in the universe into the Starheart orb at the farthest reaches of space.
• c. 3,000,000,000 B.C.
  • The evolved Oans leave and split between the female Zamarons and the two male halves: the Guardians of the Universe and Controllers.

• • The Guardians create the Manhunter androids to serve as their agents. However, they eventually rebel against their masters.
  • The Guardians replace the Manhunters with sentient beings and create the Green Lantern Corps first with rayguns charged by batteries. Eventually, they award the corps miraculous power rings driven by the weavers will.

• • The Universe is divided into 3600 individually patrolled sectors.

• The Zamarons temporarily reside on the planet Korugar before moving on to Zamaron. The male Oans swear not to interfere with them as the killing of a male Korugarian by them or their agents can result in the destruction of the main Green Lantern power battery.

• The Psions are created from genetically altered lizards by the Guardians.

Pre-20th Century

• Civilization begins on the planet Krypton.

• 100 million years ago. – Armageddon 2001: Captain Atom travels through time in chase with Monarch. He also encounters Chronos.

• 250,000 Years Ago, ancient Kryptonians create the creature that would become Doomsday.

• 100,000 Years Ago, the Homo_Magi an offshoot of the developing human race, emerge with a genetic predilection to magic, later founding the fabled city of Atlantis.
• 50,000 Years Ago
  • Caveman Vandar Adg gains immortality from exposure to a strange meteor, setting him on the path to becoming the evil Vandal Savage.
• 40,000 Years Ago
  • Atlantis sinks beneath the Atlantic Ocean. By this time, the majority of Atlantis`s Homo Magi-descendants have abandonment sorcery in favor of science and technology. But the citizens of the Atlantean city of Tritonis embrace dark magic to prevent their doom, later evolving into a race of mer-people as result..
  • Some other Atlantean cities survive underwater thanks to their protective domes. The surviving Atlanteans use magic and technology to change themselves into water-breathing forms, and continue to live under the sea, unknown to the rest of mankind.

• 30,000 Years Ago
  • Anthro, the first Cro-Magnon Man, is born. He becomes a leader among early humans.
  • The Guardians of the Universe accomplish mass genetic tampering with the Martian species, giving them a weakness of fire and making them shy away from being chaotic creatures.

• • A spaceship crashes into Earth, containing a Guardian of the Universe and a burning Martian. The Martian kills a tribe of Cro-Magnons and is later killed by Vandal Savage.

• A plague wipes out most of the Martian race.

• 5000 BC: Dr Mist appears. ^{zero hour}
• 2600 BC: Shazam gives power to Teth-Adam, a protectorate to watch over his lands while he is gone, who builds the first of the pyramids in Egypt, after which he speeds up civilization to rule it by killing the first of the pharaohs. Shazam only returns to banish Teth-Adam into another dimensional realm. Two Thanagarians crash on the planet. After their deaths the culture and technology is hidden and their civilization disappears.

• 1200 BC: The Amazon race is born. ^{zero hour}
  • To protect the Amazons from persecution, the Greek gods transport them to the island of Themyscira, where they do not age.

• Roman Empire: The Golden Gladiator appears. ^{zero hour}
• 64 AD: – Doctor Doome summons the Roman emperor Nero to battle the Seven Soldiers of Victory in 1942. Five tyrants from the past were summoned with his time machine. Nero captures Captain Atom. The alien civilization has settled on Earth waiting in disbelief for Monarch and their leader returning (Alpha Centurion joins the alien civilization and spends centuries with these aliens).

• 6th century Middle Ages.
  • Silent Knight appears. ^{zero hour}
  • Merlin gives the Shining Knight, Sir Justin of the Round Table, magical equipment.

• • Morgaine le Fey destroys Camelot; Merlin unleashes his half brother, the demon Etrigan to battle against her forces, after Morgaine le Fey`s defeat Merlin Binds the Demon Etrigan to a peasant named Jason which drives him mad and fuel a murderous rampage which earns the possessed peasant the sobriquet of ¨Jason-of-the-Blood¨ or simply Jason Blood..
• 10th century
  • 968: The Viking Prince appears. ^{zero hour}
• 12th century
  • 1191: Through Etrigan´s influence Jason Blood betrays the Pope´s Cardinal in Jerusalem, murdering 50 crusading knights suing for the Turks withdrawal from Jerusalem. For his blasphemy Etrigan became a favorite in Hell at the court of Lucifer.
• 16th century
  • To combat Jewish persecution in the Prague Ghetto, Rabbi Loew creates a defender out of clay, with the Hebrew word for truth,¨Ernet¨, inscribed in his forehead. Later, the Council of Rabbis decrees that a human agent should replace the Golem and thus fabricate the living costume of the Ragman. the Golem mysteriously disappears.
• 17th century
  • 1660: Jason Blood and Etrigan journey to the New World, leaving death and pestilence in their wake... and earning greater favor in Hell. Through their later exploits are limited neither by continent nor plane, both Blood and Etrigan find themselves more and more time in the Americas, drawn to its bloodshed.
• 18th century
  • Late 1700s: Uncle Sam, Firehair, Tomahawk appears. ^{zero hour}
• 19th century
  • The Age of Western Heroes: Jonah Hex, Bat Lash, Cinnamon, El Diablo, Scalphunter, Nighthawk, El Papagayo, Pistolera, Quentin Turnbull, Max Mercury, Pow Wow Smith, Super-Chief, Terra-Man, Don Caballero, Johnny Thunder, Matt Savage, Madame .44, Hawk son of Tomahawk and the Trigger Twins. The Kent family appears.
  • 1826: The Daily Planet is founded.

• • 1891: God's original Spirit of Vengeance, the rogue Eclipso, is freed from an eternity imprisoned in the Heart of Darkness, a fabled flawless black diamond. the Heart of Darkness is cut into a 1000 pieces and Eclipso´s evil is spread across the Earth. Various occult defenders including the Phantom Stranger will battle Eclipso in the century that follows.
  • 1899: A cult dedicated to Satan attempts to sacrifice the souls of two infants, Instead the demon Koth damns the souls of the cult and finds the infants spirited away. Rescued by Zator, a disciple of mystics known as The Seven, the infants are raised in the arcane arts and are later named Dr. Occult and Rose Psychic.

20th Century

Pre-Golden Age Era

• World War I: Balloon Buster and Enemy Ace appears.
  • 1915
    • April 7, 1915: Bruce Wayne is born to Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne in Gotham City. (America vs. the Justice Society #1, 1985) ^{golden age}
  • 1917: in an attempt to redeem his centuries of sin, Jason Blood attempts to aid the British and insure a swift victory against the Kaiser´s forces at Ypres in France during WWI. Etrigan slaughter the British instead, further damning Blood.

• • 1919: Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, is imprisoned. ^{zero hour}
• 1926
  • June 26, 1924: Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne are shot by a mugger in Gotham City. Their son, Bruce Wayne, survives. (Secret Origins vol. 2, #6, September 1986) ^{golden age}
• 1935: Armed with the mystical symbol of The Seven, Dr Occult first investigations of the supernatural begin.

The Golden Age of Heroes

• 1938
  • October 30, 1938 : Coinciding with the panic caused by Orson Welles' infamous broadcast, newspaper publisher Lee Travis makes his debut as the Crimson Avenger, becoming the first publicly-recognized costumed hero of the twentieth century (the Sandman, another Golden Age superhero, began his career on an unidentified day in early October 1938, although he is not recognized by the public until 1939). As the first modern superhero, the Crimson Avenger's exploits set the standard for all others, and to this day his costume is used in the Justice League of America's induction ceremony, in Travis's honor.

• • In his quest to reveal the secrets of true magic state magician Giovanni "John" Zatara uncovers a manuscript written by his ancestor Leonardo da Vinci and from it discovers the "backwards" spells he will use as an arcane adventurer. First thwarting Nazi spies and saboteurs during WWII, Zatara´s later exploits will take him beyond the mortal realm.

• 1939
  • Alan Scott discovers a magic lantern forged from the Starheart and becomes Earth's first Green Lantern.

• • The Spectre, who began the Spirit of Vengeance after Eclipso fell out of God's favor, takes the mortal form of slain police Jim Corrigan

• 1940
  • Empowered by the Lords of Order , archeologist Kent Nelson becomes Doctor Fate after years spent under the tutelage of Nabu the Wise who bequeathed to Nelson a mystical amulet, helmet and cape to face the forces of chaos.

• 1941
  • December 9, 1941: Two days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor brings the U.S.A. into the second World War; America's heroes try to retaliate only to find that a spell cast by Hitler and the Dragon King (using the Spear of Destiny and the Holy Grail, respectively) causes magical and magic-sensitive people to fall under their control if they enter Nazi-held territory. This leaves most of the truly powerful heroes out of the War. A time travelling heroine from the future clad in Red, White & Blue arrives and is in pursuit of an entity called Dark Angel. She is Queen Hippolyte of the Amazons who has replaced her daughter as Wonder Woman. President Franklin D. Roosevelt then organizes all of America's superheroes into the All-Star Squadron, to protect the homefront. Normal people without special powers (such as Easy Company) fight the war, along with secret experimental soldiers like the Creature Commandos.

• • Sgt. Frank Rock and the men of Easy Company appears, to battle against the Nazis.

• • The Justice Society of America, the world's first superhero team, is founded by America's fledgling costumed heroes in response to the outbreak of World War II.

• 1945
  • During the Nazi purgue of the Warsaw Ghetto the latest Ragman, Jerzy Reganiewicz, rallies people against the German storm troopers. Despite the tragic outcome of Warsaw, the Ragman gives hope in the face of genocide. After the war Jerzy travels to America, renaming himself ¨Gerry Regan¨ and establishing the Rags ´n´ Tatters Pawnshop in Gotham City.

• • Dr Occult sacrifice his soul in order to help the Justice Society of America defeat the soulless Stalker. To spare Occult´s life, Rose Psychic shares her own soul with him, forging Dr Occult in a new unified being, both male and female..
• 1951 The Justice Society of America disbands, after being subjected to McCarthyism. (Adventure Comics #466) Superhero activity declines (but doesn't totally disappear) afterwards. Queen Hippolyta who fought as a member of the Justice Society & The All-Star Squadron as Wonder Woman leaves this era and returns to her rightful time in the present. In response to this, the covert government organization Task Force X is formed to fill the gap left by the departing heroes.
• 1953: Most superhero activity has ceased by this time.

• c. "1968"
  • Nathaniel Christopher Adam, a United States Air Force airman in the Vietnam War, is sentenced to death; as an alternative to execution, he participates in a military experiment which Adam survives as alien metal melted into his body and the excess energy threw him forward in time.
• 1998: Justice Leagion Alpha visit the 20th century, the Hourman virus is unleashed on Earth and Solaris the Tyrant Star is created.

Modern era & Floating timeline

• Krypton explodes. The Kryptonian scientist Jor-El manages to save his baby son, Kal-El by sending him to Earth in a prototype starship. The planet's remains become kryptonite.

Guideline: As of 2025, the following event(s) will have taken place in 1987

• A scientist, Dr. Saul Erdel, accidentally teleports J'onn J'onzz, the last living Martian, to Earth. He is secretly active for years, studying humanity and fighting crime under several false identities.

• Kal-El's spacecraft lands outside of Smallville, Jonathan and Martha Kent find him. They adopt him and name him Clark Kent.
• Bruce Wayne is born to Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne in Gotham City.

• American lighthouse keeper Arthur Curry raises the son of exiled Princess Atlanna of Atlantis.

• A mugger murders Thomas and Martha Wayne in what will come to be known as "Crime Alley" in Gotham City. Their son Bruce swears to fight a war on crime.
  • The killer, Joe Chill is later confronted by the adult Bruce Wayne but his guilt cannot be proven. Chill is killed by other criminals for creating the Batman. (Batman #47, 1948) ^{golden age}

• Zatanna is born. She is the daughter of Zatara, whose magical heritage has decelerated his aging process.

Amazon Sorceress Magala creates a "mystic twin" companion for Diana from a fragment of the young princess' soul which was subsequently kidnapped by an enemy of Hippolyta known as Dark Angel. Dark Angel places the twin in a state of suspended animation for years.

  • Clark Kent emerges as Superman. This inspires a new generation of superheroes to debut as well. Later, he joins the staff of the Daily Planet as a reporter.His first true nemesis is the white-collar criminal Lex Luthor.

• Batman
  • January 4, Lieutenant James Gordon arrives to Gotham and Bruce Wayne at age 25 returns to Gotham after 12 years abroad.
  • March 11, James Gordon get ambushed by its fellow officer Flass and others due not being corrupt as them, later that night he retaliates against Flass beating him up and leaving him naked on the road; Bruce Wayne trying to discover a way to fight crime goes to East End and gets stab by Holly Robinson, a minor prostitute, is attacked by Selina Kyle and gets shot by a cop, he returns home wounded and depress by his failure, a bat crashes its window inspiring him on becoming Batman.
  • April 4, Gordon stops a lunatic from killing an innocent girl, the press name him a hero cop.

• • April 6, Bruce Wayne begins his career as the Batman, going around Gotham`s roofs, stops robs and crimes on night.
  • April 9, Commissioner Gillian B. Loeb gets informs of a "giant bat" all over the city.
  • May 15, by now Batman have committed 78 acts of assault moving from criminals to corrupt cops, getting the attention of the GCPD.
  • May 19, at a social reunion between the Mob leaders and other corrupt figures of Gotham Batman enters and declares ¨None of you are safe¨ officially declaring war against the corruption of the city.
  • May 20, Commissioner Loeb assigns Gordon the immediate capture of Batman.
  • June 2, the police start placing traps for batman with no effect.
  • June 6, Gordon interrogate assistant district attorney Harvey Dent thinking he might be Batman, Batman being on the same room hides until Gordon leaves. Later that night he gets shot by cops after saving a woman, he gets cornered on an abandoned building.
  • June 7, at order of Commissioner Loeb the building on which Batman is hide gets blown up leaving only him an a cat surviving the bombing. Selina and Holly interested by the news go the place. Batman manages to escape leaving 4 officers with broken bones.
  • July 5, Gordon starts an affair with detective Sarah Essen.
  • August 7, Selina Kyle is inspired by Batman to become Catwoman
  • September 2, Gordon manages to apprehend drug dealer Jefferson Skeevers.
  • Around September, Batman pursues the criminal Red Hood to the Ace Chemical plant, he falls into the chemical basin disappears after that.
  • September 5, in order to stop their affair Sarah request transferring out of Gotham, Skeevers go out of jail on bail, later Batman beats him to confess his crimes.
  • September 12, Detective Arnold Flass is implicated on the Skeever`s drug operation.
  • September 25, Gordon confronts Bruce Wayne to judge if he might be or not Batman, later he confess his wife about his affair.
  • October 12, James Gordon Jr. is born,
  • November 2, Catwoman slashes The Roman´s face after robbing him.
  • November 3, James Gordon Jr. is kidnapped by the Roman goons and later rescue by Batman which let to his father James Gordon to trust him. Flass testify against Loeb and others on the police. days after that Gordon is promoted to Captain.
  • November 22, Commissioner Loeb resigns, Edward Grogan is appointed as new commissioner by the mayor.
  • November 23, Bruce Wayne starts a romantic relationship with Julie Madison, Batman discovers the rests of a woman.

Meanwhile on Earth, Diana's mother Queen Hippolyte takes up the mantle of Wonder Woman to continue where Diana left off. She would subsequently find herself involved in a time travelling adventure to the 1940s where she becomes known as that era's "Golden Age Wonder Woman".

• Guy Gardner is infused with Vuldarian DNA and becomes The Warrior.
• After a being called the Sun-Eater extinguishes the sun, Parallax sacrifices himself to reignite it.
• Clark Kent and Lois Lane are wed.
• Clark Kent gets his hair cut.
• Superman briefly experiences a shift in his abilities and transforms into the energy-based Superman Blue.
• Oliver Queen is resurrected and becomes Green Arrow once again.
• Superboy, Robin, and Impulse form Young Justice.

• The Titans reform.

• Hal Jordan becomes the new host spirit for The Spectre.
• No Man's Land: Gotham City is struck by a massive earthquake. The Federal government, finding that the cost of rebuilding Gotham would be too great, declares the city a "No Man's land", meaning Gotham is no longer a property of the United States. Most of the populace evacuates, but those who remain form territorial tribes in order to protect themselves. After restoration by Lex Luthor, the order is lifted one year later, and Gotham City is readmitted into the U.S. Tommy Monnighan prevents Vampires from taking over Gotham City.

• Our Worlds at War: Almerac and Warworld are destroyed. Imperiex Prime almost succeeds in destroying the universe and recreating a Big Bang only to be deterred by the Earth and the alien alliance.

• Sixpack saves the world from the many angled ones after they enter this dimension via a scientist's anal passage
• Kyle Rayner's powers grow exponentially and becomes Ion. He expels his massive energies to recreate the Guardians of the Universe and recharge the Central Power Battery on Oa.

• An old friend of Batman's Thomas Elliot comes back as Hush. Hush tears the life of Bruce Wayne life apart at the seams. Jason Todd becomes entangled in the affair and appears before Batman, although because of Clayface his return is not confirmed..
• In the Midwestern city of Dakota, the leaders of all of the Paris Island gangs choose to settle their differences in a massive "gang bang" confrontation dubbed the "big bang". Mayor Jefferson ordered the Police Department to spray all present gang members with an experimental tear gas laced with a radioactive marker that would allow the police to track the participants. The gas contained a mutagen called "quantum juice" (or "Q-juice") that killed most exposed to it and mutated the rest. The survivors became superheroes and supervillains known as "bang babies". The survivors of two gangs (the Paris Bloods and Force Syndicate) formed the core of the Blood Syndicate. Virgil Ovid Hawkins (age 15) became the electricly powered super hero Static.

Many possible futures and future events have been described within the fiction of the DC Universe. Some or all of these may no longer exist within the current timeline for the usual reasons and due to the effects of time travel within the stories. These events may therefore form alternate futures.

• 2030 Monarch reigns for 20 years on Earth and the being Waverider is born. He uses the Timestream to change the future.

• c. 2030 The son of Donna Troy turns into Lord Chaos, an oppressor king of world. The Monarch will create the Team Titans.

• 853rd century Solaris destroys thousands of Superhumans and with the aid of Supermen, Justice Legion Alpha save the solar system. An android Hourman escapes to the past.

• Jack Kirby's Fourth World presented a scenario known as The Great Disaster, which destroys human civilization sometime between the 20th and 30th centuries.
  • Future Earth A.D. (After Disaster)- the world is ruled by evolved animals with intelligence, Kamandi is the last human on Earth.

The End of Time

• The Legion of Super-Heroes' enemy, the Time Trapper, lives at the end of time. The universe begins to collapse as it is consumed by entropy.

• Krona tries to look past this time to view the beginning of the universe, only to unleash entropy on the early universe wiping out countless lives. Doomsday is sent here, consumed by entropy, and later escapes.

• Epoch the Lord of Time goes to the year 1 billion and creates the Timepoint.

• 100,000,000,000 A.D. – The universe finally ends. Mister E and Timothy Hunter visit here briefly. Destiny closes his book and dies, and Death sends Mr. E and Tim Hunter back. Death figuratively closes shop on the universe. (The Books of Magic)

• The universe loops back to the beginning. It is the job of Imperiex to end and recreate the DC Universe.

• Wally West and Zatanna return the Top's memories, and he subsequently starts the Rogue War.
• Coast City is reconstructed.
• The Vanishing, a mysterious force of nature, causes millions of people, including Lois Lane, to disappear. Superman, as it turns out, finds them in an alternate universe Phantom Zone-type dimension, where he tries to create a new world for humans to avoid the same fate as Krypton. Eventually, he destroys this place after an alternate Zod tries to take over, the Fortress of Solitude is destroyed after a fight with Wonder Woman, and Lois and the other humans are returned with their memories of the whole event erased.
• Hal Jordan is resurrected and Parallax is imprisoned in the Central Power Battery. The Spectre remains without a host.
• The Guardians of the Universe return.

• Spoiler returns and reveals herself to Robin as having survived the events of the War Games.
• Booster Gold and his sister, Goldstar, form the Time Masters.
• The Black Glove and the Joker attack Batman by taking advantage of an old self-destruct code embedded in his psyche from an experiment years before.

Final Crisis

• Libra, equipped with the Crime Bible, returns seeking to breathe new life into the recently disassembled Secret Society of Super Villains.
• Orion is murdered. Dan Turpin stumbles upon the Dark Side Club.
• Libra murders Martian Manhunter.
• Atrocitus' Red Lanterns form to exact revenge on Sinestro. The first Blue Lanterns and Orange Lanterns appear.
• Granny Goodness captures Batman and others to recreate the New Gods with the Anti-Life Equation.
• Barry Allen recruits Jay Garrick and Wally West into the Speed Force to stop Orion's death, but all fail.
• Superman is coerced into helping Zillo Valla and other multiversal variations of himself save the Bleed from Mandrakk the Dark Monitor.
• Legion of Three Worlds:
  • The Time Trapper plucks Superboy-Prime from the destroyed Earth-51 and sends him to the 31st century to assemble the Legion of Super-Villains.
  • After battling Mandrakk the Dark Monitor, Superman is summoned to the 31st century to aid the Legion of Super-Heroes against Superboy-Prime.
  • Conner Kent and Bart Allen return to life in the 31st century.
• Darkseid's forces unleash the Anti-Life Equation onto the people of Earth.
• Darkseid is reborn through the host of Dan Turpin.
• Libra vanishes after a coup d'état by Lex Luthor.
• Batman shoots Darkseid using the same Radion bullet used to kill Orion, but is soon after hit by Darkseid's Omega Sanction.
• The Flashes lead the Black Racer through the Speed Force to Darkseid, freeing Dan Turpin.
• Superman returns from the future to kill Darkseid and construct the Miracle Machine.
• Exiled Monitor Nix Uotan summons the Green Lantern Corps and the Supermen of the Multiverse to destroy Mandrakk the Dark Monitor.
• Apokolips is reborn as New Genesis.
• Nix Uotan reconstructs Earth-51 by seeding it with elements from other universes.

Post-Final Crisis

• Superman releases the Bottled City of Kandor from Braniac's grasp, reviving over 100,000 Kryptonians who recreate Krypton on the exact opposite side of the Sun from Earth on the same orbit.
• Barry Allen attempts to readjust a changed world.
• Chris Kent becomes the new Nightwing.
• Dick Grayson becomes the new Batman
• Damian Wayne becomes the new Robin
• Tim Drake becomes the new Red Robin.
• Stephanie Brown becomes the new Batgirl.
