[[Punjab]] [[Minister (government)|Minister]] for [[Irrigation]] Mian Yawar Zaman has said that the [[Punjab]] govt has been taking tangible measures to promote [[agriculture]] and [[improve]] the [[socioeconomic]] [[condition]] of the [[farmers]]. He stated this during his visit to the under [[construction]] Haji Shah [[Dam]] being built at a cost of Rs357.247 [[million]] and will be completed by the end of this year. The [[Minister (government)|minister]] said that this [[dam]] would cover an area of 15.5 [[square]] km and will help irrigate 1,520 acres of land. He said that the [[construction]] of this dam would be completed by the end of this year which would not only irrigate barren land under [[cultivation]] but would also become a [[source]] of clean drinking water for the [[residents]] of surrounding areas. The provincial [[Minister (government)|minister]] said that [[Punjab]] [[Chief Minister]] [[Shahbaz Sharif]] wanted to bring green [[revolution]] in the province and for the purpose small dams were being built in the areas where there was no proper irrigation system available.
