Sethi (sometimes spelled Seth) is a surname that is found among the Punjabi Khatris of India .^[1] The surname is also found among Arora.^[2]

Sethi is derived from the Sanskrit word "Sreshta" meaning "Pure" or "Superior" . ^[3]^[4]^{[page needed]}
