In 1974 he started his professional carrier as a pelotari in the Cinema [[fronton]] of [[Zarauz]] ([[Gipuzkoa]]), having as a partner another pelotari, [[Juaristi]]. They were defeated by Azorena and Etxeandia by 22-21.
