==Peer Review== |

The following suggestions were generated by a semi-automatic javascript program, and might not be applicable for the article in question. |
*Please expand the lead to conform with guidelines at Wikipedia:Lead. The article should have an appropriate number of paragraphs as is shown on WP:LEAD, and should adequately summarize the article.[[User:AndyZ/G#lead|[?]]] |
*See if possible if there is a free use image that can go on the top right corner of this article.[[User:AndyZ/G#leadimg|[?]]] |
*There may be an applicable infobox for this article. For example, see Template:Infobox Biography, Template:Infobox School, or Template:Infobox City.[[User:AndyZ/G#infobox|[?]]] (Note that there might not be an applicable infobox; remember that these suggestions are not generated manually) |
*Per Wikipedia:Context and Wikipedia:Build the web, years with full dates should be linked; for example, link January 15, 2006.[[User:AndyZ/G#linkdate|[?]]] |
*Watch for redundancies that make the article too wordy instead of being crisp and concise. (You may wish to try Tony1's redundancy exercises.) |
**While additive terms like “also”, “in addition”, “additionally”, “moreover”, and “furthermore” may sometimes be useful, overusing them when they aren't necessary can instead detract from the brilliancy of the article. This article has 11 additive terms, a bit too much. |
*Please ensure that the article has gone through a thorough copyediting so that it exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work. See also to satisfy Criterion 1a.[[User:AndyZ/G#copyedit|[?]]] |

== Arachniphobia? == |
Is it possible that Patrick has arachniphobia? In the episode entitled "Home Sweet Pineapple", he apparently has a dream where spiders are crawling around everywhere, and yells "SPIDERS! SPIDERS!" like he would die if didn't kill them. After that, he smashes his rock on what he thinks are spiders (it's actually Spongebob). <small>—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 199.224.109.21 (talk) 15:02, 3 February 2007 (UTC).</small><!-- HagermanBot Auto-Unsigned --> |

== Sea Star? What is a Sea Star?== |
Is a sea star the name of a star fish in some foreign country? The show is made in America so I think we should change all references to Sea Star to "Starfish" since that is what Patrick is. Also it is stated he sleeps attached to the roof of a rock just like sea stars. What? Starfish lay flat on the bottom of the ocean. It should be pointed out that sleeping under a rock attached to the bottom of it is unusual and not the normal for a starfish. At least point out that how Patrick sleeps is not normal behavior for a starfish. It may be normal for a sea star but Patrick isn't one. MBCF 22:11, 20 February 2007 (UTC) |
I think seastar is the "official" name used by scientists to describe starfish, but I agree that we should use starfish, since this is an article about a tv show character and should use a normal term. |
*Stephen Hillenburg calls Patrick a "sea star" in a special bonus feature of the Movie DVD. -<font color="blue">A</font><font color="green">M</font><font color="red">K</font><font color="orange">1</font><font color="aqua">5</font><font color="gray">2</font>(Talk • Contributions • Send message)  02:17, 23 February 2007 (UTC) |

i believe the on the main page, it says Partick Star's parents are margie and herb, which is wrong. in one episode, partick believes them to be his parents, but in fact they were not, they were stupid and relized they did not have childern. i do not know the exact names of the parents or the episode this took place in. yet i could be wrong and the picture on the main page is wrong. b/c the picture is the wrong one. |

== Notability == |
This article should be merged and redirected if better sources aren't found. The sources indicate notability of the TV show but not individual notability of Patrick Star. :Unfortunately, a significant number of people prefer to leave the notability tag up for a few months before accepting that nonnotable characters are nonnotable. Eyebrows
[edit]At a certain point in the series, his eyebrows change shape. Does anybody know why? Was it easier to draw or express emotions with the new style brows? I was hoping to find something about it in this article under the header: Character: Creation and design but no... By the way... half of that part is about how the creator came up with Spongebob instead of the evolution of Patrick! OXYGENE 7-13 (TALKPAGE) 16:03, 7 May 2016 (UTC)
Using "allegation"
[edit]Could we change the heading "Allegations of homosexuality" to one without the word "allegation"? This word definitely has negative connotations and is even defined by Google as "a claim or assertion that someone has done something illegal or wrong". I was thinking "Controversy," but some of the section isn't negative and is just about his popularity in the gay community. Olsenho (talk) 06:25, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
Origin of the name

Page Move
[edit]Should we move this page to Patrick Sea Star (character)? BWikiBW02 (talk) 16:53, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose: The current title is the established WP:COMMONNAME for the character. Jalen Folf (talk) 18:58, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

"An obese pink starfish, Patrick lives underneath a rock in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom next door to Squidward Tentacles' moai." Change "Starfish" to "Sea star". "Starfish" arent fish. Any other mention of the word "Starfish" should also be changed to "Sea star". IHateYouAndEverybodyElse (talk) 20:32, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
- Not done: Wikipedia's article is at starfish. Meters (talk) 21:47, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
