If I may suggest, now that you've posted the Eichorn article the draft below might be deleted. It's your talk page to do with as you like, but it's a bit hard to edit around.

As for formatting and pictures, a good way to learn is to look around at other articles to see what you think looks best. It can be helpful to break up long blocks of text into subsections. Perhaps it'd be possible to split the biography into two or three eras. Other than that, the formatting is usually kept fairly plain. As for photos, it's easy to upload them: the trick is in finding photos with appropriate licensing. If you have any personal photos then those'd be fine. There are might be pictures of the peaks he did first ascents on in the Wikicommons. File:Cathedral Peak.png is a so-so pic of Eichorn Pinnacle.

Thanks Justin and OMCV. I am beginning work on Tom Frost and Glen Dawson. Comments on Norman Clyde would be welcomed. I will defintely read up on Peter Croft, OMCV. I am still "learning the ropes" in Wikipedia, to use a climbing analogy, and have all sorts of things in mind. My biggest challenge right now is getting permission to use images. My next biggest challenge is hiking to the top of Mt. Whitney with my wife in ten days - she's never been above 12,000 feet except for the train ride up Pikes Peak. Request of Help on "Just the Facts" Tone

Hi Jim,

I am very new to Wikipedia. I got your feedback on the draft article located under PhoCoHaNoi. Thanks so much for your comments. I would greatly appreciate if you would spare some valuable time to highlight those parts from the draft that I need to pay close attentions to regarding the aspect that you raised. I know it would be a long shot to ask if you would even consider providing specific examples by directly editing them on the draft.

Lastly, I still do not know on how to submit the revision for review. I do not see any obvious buttons or pull-down menus from the Sandbox setting that would be able to allow to submit the article for review.

Hello, PhoCoHaNoi. I am not going to edit the draft myself, because I want this to be a learning exercise for you. Here are a few examples of unacceptable wording:

"celebrating the 73-year history of outstanding men and women"

"pioneering contributions"

"sustained leadership and strategic vision"

"Exceptional services to innovation ecosystem"

"stimulating small business innovation, meeting the Air Force and DoD R&D needs, broadening participation in innovation and entrepreneurship, and boosting commercialization"

" So, as Dr. Pham looked back now, he brought systems-theoretic science and control engineering principles, together with teamwork and interdisciplinary to bear fruition in solving warfighter engineering problems, various areas of specific focus for increased activities in space control autonomy and space domain awareness."

It is not the job of a Wikipedia editor (you) to praise a person. Every trace of this non-neutral language must be removed. A Wikipedia article should never say "Person A is great!" Instead, it should say "Reliable source C reports that Expert B says that Person A is great", along with a reference to Reliable source C.

As for how to submit your draft, I will explain that when the draft complies with the neutral point of view. Cullen³²⁸ Let's discuss it

Hello, Mrs.Austin2025. Spend a few weeks making minor improvements to existing uncontroversial articles, like the history of your home town or some hobby that you have. Familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's Policies and guidelines, especially the three core content policies, Verifiability and the Neutral point of view and No original research. Read and study Your first article and then read and study the Notabilty guideline for people. Ask yourself at this point, "Does this person really meet that guideline?" It is also a good idea to read and study an essay Wikipedia:Writing Wikipedia articles backward which describes one of the most common mistakes that new editors make. Good luck! Following recent activity on the Help Desk (which you were involved in) and now at COIN [2] re: an account interested only in promoting the films of Shannon Alexander, I wondered if there was any prospect of the very argumentative account being blocked?

It's clearly an advertising only account and now they are forum shopping their grievances all over the place (they are currently threatening to go to the NPOV noticeboard, which will only waste more users' time).

I have been trying to creat article about a famouse person but keep getting it declined the article has existed in wikipedia but was later deleted by some admins who think it does not belong in wikipedia. Omarisonfire, that depends entirely on the specific details of the book. What is the name of the book? Is it self published or is it issued by an established publishing house? Who is the author? What is the author's background, expertise and what previous books have they written? Is it an authorized biography? Has the book been reviewed by reliable sources? And so on. Hello, Wisdomagic. This appears to be about Draft:The Balkans Continued Fraction, which is about a mathematical concept. The draft has only a single reference to a preprint of an article by Naccache and Yifrach-Stav, who together developed the concept. This is nowhere close to being an acceptable encyclopedia article. The preprint is worthless for the purpose of a Wikipedia article. What is required are multiple references to articles in peer-reviewed journals written by mathematicians completely independent of Naccache and Yifrach-Stav that devote significant coverage to the Balkans Continued Fraction. Hello, Duke Nuketown. Lots of things on Wikipedia rely on templates, which are brief segments of code that carry out more sophistated functions. In the Wikicode, a template opens with a pair of opening curly brackets and are closed with a pair of closing curly brackets. When you tried to change the date from TBA to a definite date, you inadvertently removed the pair of closing curly brackets. That caused the infobox to go haywire, because it is generated by a template. Please read WP:TEMPLATE. Another editor promptly corrected your error. No big deal. Hello, Latin2344. The answer is yes, but only if you thoroughly understand both words and are highly confident that they are synonyms. This edit is not a good one, because "contrary" and "similar" have almost opposite meanings, so you have changed the meaning of the sentence. Is that justified? Elenuus, a user you previously blocked

Hi Cullen, you blocked this user for a month a little while back after this ANI report. While they haven't gone back to the exact same sort of disruption they were doing that led to the block, my impression of them is still a ... very odd one. They came to my attention by writing "Hello?" to a long-deceased user (and I later found out they asked a way-too-personal question to Callanecc on their talk page;); they probably saw both these users via protection logs or something. I Spot-checked several of their edits and reverted some (e.g. this removal of formatting markup) but others looked OK. I think we're dealing with a young/unresponsive editor and maybe language issues ... I think at the very least they need to be closely watched, but I wouldn't object to reblocking them, maybe for longer than a month. Not to mention that their talk page is kinda crazy! And their early edits are a bit interesting for a new user. This is the exact sort of user I had trouble with as an admin. I'm not even sure what to warn them with, if anything. I made a mistake and can't fix it.

I uploaded an image to Wikimedia commons and have now realized I put in incorrect info and it needs to be removed asap. Due to personal issues on my end, I can't go to Wikimedia commons myself and fix it. I'm truly sorry but I've noticed you help around a lot at the Teahouse and was hoping you could do it for me. The image to be removed is titled something like "The Big Bad Wolf - The Wolf's Revenge logo". It should be some black font in front of a white background with some eyes. Therguy10, this appears to be about File:The Big Bad Wolf - Wolf’s Revenge logo.jpg that you uploaded with a claim that the image is in the public domain. I do not have the expertise to determine whether or not this image has sufficient originality to be protected by copyright. To me, it is borderline. Sure I can try to explain; it’s an issue in my end that I really need to get fixed but I promise I’m not lying. (It’s an issue that is 100% on my end) I’m getting timed out to the point where sometimes I can’t access the website. It does this with other websites too. So while I might have access one day, I might not the next. (I wasn’t timed out when I uploaded the image; I was timed out when I went to remove it)

My incorrect information was regarding upload date and the source of the image. (I found the image on a site but I’m now unsure that’s the site it was sourced from, an idiotic mistake on my part) I do see the potential issue with the copyright so I will see what I can do.

It may require a temporary fix on my end or I’ll do it at a time when I’m not timed out. Thank you for looking into it though, your information is useful. I hope I haven’t disturbed you; I’m really sorry if I have. :(
