Passion Pop is an Australian alcoholic drink consisting of carbonated flavored juice. It was created by Frank “Pop” Miranda from 1977 to 1978 at the C-Seka winery in Griffith, New South Wales. The rights for the drink were then sold to Australian Vintage, which now owns and produces the beverage.[1] It comes in four flavors: passion fruit (original), mixed berry, strawberry (pink), and watermelon.[2]
Description
[edit]Passion Pop is labelled as a carbonated, flavored juice. At 9.5% alcohol, one 750 mL Champagne-style glass bottle contains 5.6 standard drinks. It was one of the first beverage products in Australia to utilize a plastic stopper (or "cork").[3]
