I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to [[WP:URS|unreliable sources]] and [[predatory journal]]s. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the [[Wikipedia:User scripts/Most imported scripts|39th most imported script on Wikipedia]]. Ironically, the section talking about neutrality is not very neutral. Instead of saying "This means that they must not be written from a liberal perspective that is unsympathetic to cops..." You could just as easily say "This means that they must not be written from a conservative perspective that is sympathetic to cops, if not full of positive bias towards them, or from the opposite perspective." |

:I took a look at the material in question and personally think it's mostly OK. Some of the language could be toned down a little, e.g. "In 2022 and 2023, the Winnipeg Police Service faced widespread criticism" could drop the word "widespread"; and "The allocation of Winnipeg’s municipal budget towards the Winnipeg Police has drastically increased since the year 2000. While the Winnipeg Police consumed 17 percent of the City’s total operating budget in the year 2000, by 2020 this had risen to over 25%" could be improved by shortening to "The allocation of Winnipeg’s municipal budget towards the Winnipeg Police has increased from 17% since the year 2000, to 25% in 2020." Furthermore, the section on Justice 4 Black Lives Winnipeg's petition could benefit from some independent references acknowledging its creation, or better still any results / response from the authorities. But otherwise, the section uses a number of local and national sources that seem reliable - and I did search [[WP:RSN]] and [[WP:RSP]]. Conclusion - it needs some wordsmithing and a couple of additional references but I don't think the whole section merits deletion. It is a community organization that regularly engages in civic life in Winnipeg and regularly presents at the city council meetings. Also, the WPCH article that's been linked to is accurate, and is written by James Wilt, an established journalist with bylines at many respected news outlets including The Narwhal, Vice News, Canadian Dimension, The National Observer and the Edmonton Journal, and has published books with Penguin Random House. Magnolia677 might disagree with criticism of the Winnipeg Police Service, but the idea that the sources are inaccurate or not reflective of public discourse around the Winnipeg Police Service is just flat-out wrong and betrays that the user is either completely uninformed about this topic, or has an axe to grind about this particular topic. Chinese provincial Highway patrols?
[edit]When i visited sichuan a week ago i noticed some police cars were marked with "Sichuan Public Security Department Highway patrol" but i don't see much information on chinese provincial highway patrol agencies on wikipedia.
Can someone do some more digging into this subject?
