13...cxd5 14.Bc7 Nc5 15.Rxc5 Qd7 16.Ne5

avoids losing more than a pawn materially, me thinks.

* I think you are right. After 16...Qe6 17.Rc2, Houdini considers White to have an advantage of more than 2.5 pawns, but the material balance is only +1 in White's favor. [[User:Quale|Quale]] ([[User talk:Quale|talk]]) 04:46, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Qb3

[edit]

IMO, this is useless and unnecessary move. a3/h3 looks much better, because:

11. Qb3 h6 12. Bf4 Nh5? 13. Nxd5 cxd5 14. Bc7 Ndc5 <- Qb3 sucks here :(

13...cxd5 continuation

[edit]

13...cxd5 14.Bc7 Nc5 15.Rxc5 Qd7 16.Ne5

avoids losing more than a pawn materially, me thinks.

  • I think you are right. After 16...Qe6 17.Rc2, Houdini considers White to have an advantage of more than 2.5 pawns, but the material balance is only +1 in White's favor. Quale (talk) 04:46, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
