Niles is a census-designated place (CDP) in Ottawa County, Kansas, United States.[1] As of the 2020 census, the population was 56.[2]

History

A post office was opened in Niles (originally called Nilesville) in 1885, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1974.[3]

There were 31 housing units at an average density of 67.8 per square mile (26.2/km2).[5][6] The racial makeup was 92.86% (52) white or European American (92.86% non-Hispanic white), 0.0% (0) black or African-American, 0.0% (0) Native American or Alaska Native, 0.0% (0) Asian, 0.0% (0) Pacific Islander or Native Hawaiian, 0.0% (0) from other races, and 7.14% (4) from two or more races.[7] Hispanic or Latino of any race was 0.0% (0) of the population.[8]
