Hi, I was just looking at [[The_Bear_(TV_series)#Season_2_(2023)]] and wondered if there was a typo in your {{Diff2|1161890570||edit of 17:44, 26 June 2023 UTC}} for episode 14. It starts "Approximately five years before ...". Did you intend to write "weeks" there instead of "years"? (I'm unfamiliar with the show beyond skimming those episode summaries.) Thanks! -- [[User talk:Thinking of England|ToE]] 08:14, 22 October 2023 (UTC) |

Orphaned non-free image File:Marty Hart as depicted by Woody Harrelson.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Marty Hart as depicted by Woody Harrelson.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:39, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 10
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Chain O'Lakes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Equestrian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:07, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

A lengthy welcome
[edit]Hi Bloodyboppa. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.
Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.
If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.
I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 21:45, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Bloodyboppa! Your additions to Kenosha, Wisconsin have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:41, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Maile66. I noticed that you recently removed content from Audie Murphy without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. — Maile (talk) 19:23, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
Awards
[edit]Can you stop removing awards from military biographies? You will notice that the infobox specifically has an "awards" parameter. If you read WP:INFOBOX, it states that the infoboxes "summarize key features of the page's subject
". The awards and decorations of a military bio, if they have any, almost always have their own section, making them a key feature. I know you were told to stop adding flags, (and rank insignia, though I don't agree with that or the ancient essay that was used to in support), but I'm not sure why you've gone a sudden blitz to remove awards. The articles that haven't already been reverted should be restored. - wolf 20:02, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
MCU
[edit]Hi, just letting you know that I removed those notes from the character articles since they clog the infobox, and only important info (e.g. about relationships in alternate timelines) is really needed as notes. Also, the ‘affiliation’ parameter is only for organisations, not individuals, as it would be arbitrary and vague otherwise. Thanks. IronManCap (talk) 19:04, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Skull Island, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please review WP:IPCV as well. DonIago (talk) 23:28, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

Peter Parker (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
[edit]Hello. Please do not blank source-supported content from Wikipedia articles, as you did with this edit to Peter Parker (Marvel Cinematic Universe. When writing about fiction, material should be presented, whenever possible, in an out-universe fashion rather than in an in-universe fashion, per WP:OUTUNIVERSE. While relating the plots of films and other works is reasonable, sometimes clarifications need to be made, especially when material is presented that does not come from that work, but from a secondary source. Mentioning the death of Ben Parker, when he was never explicitly mentioned with regard to the mainstream MCU Peter Parker, is inappropriate. In such cases, clarifying the point by mentioning that Ben's death was not explicitly mentioned, but was explained in a published news article, is acceptable. Adding an explicit mention of Ben that was never given in the films, and removing the material that clarifies this, is not appropirate. Nightscream (talk) 16:08, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
