Amy Maree Eden is an Australian politician who has served as mayor of Cairns in Queensland since 2024. She is the second woman to hold the role, after Val Schier.

Political career
Prior to entering politics, Eden worked as a social worker.

Eden was selected by the Cairns Unity Team to contest Division 5 on Cairns Regional Council at the 2020 election, challenging independent councillor Richie Bates (who had defected from Cairns Unity in 2017).

She was elected with 50.82% of the vote after preferences, narrowly defeating Bates.

In July 2023, Eden defected from Unity to form Team Eden, announcing her decision to contest the mayoralty. Incumbent mayor Bob Manning had already stated he would not seek a fourth term in office, with Unity's Terry James the only other declared candidate.

During the campaign, she was accused of plagiarising a Facebook post from Toowoomba councillor Rebecca Vonhoff. She later admitted to using passages of Vonhoff's post, and apologised.

Eden was elected with 56.64% of the vote after preference distribution, defeating incumbent Terry James. The only other Team Eden candidate to be elected was Trevor Tim in Division 4.
