:The article is called "Ottoman-Persian Wars". Therefore it makes sense to refer to refer to the Persian Empire, a common collective name for various historical dynasties of Iran. Take it to the talk page of the article and seek consensus there if you would like to see the nomenclature changed. Please don't leave all-caps messages on people's talk pages. Thanks. The inhabitants of the territory now occupied by Azerbaijan defined themselves as Muslims, members of the Muslim umma; or as Turks, members of a language group spread over a vast area of Central Asia; or as Persians (the founder of Azerbaijani literature, Mirza Fath’ Ali Akhundzadä, described himself as ‘almost Persian’). ‘Azerbaijani identity remained fluid and hybrid’ comments R. G. Suny (1999–2000: 160). As late as 1900, the Azerbaijanis remained divided into six tribal groups – the Airumy, Karapapakh, Pavlari, Shakhsereny, Karadagtsy and Afshavy. The key period of the formation of the Azerbaijani nation lies between the 1905 revolution and the establishment of the independent People’s Republic of Azerbaijan in 1918 (Altstadt, 1992: 95)." -- Ben Fowkes (2002). ::::::::::{{quote|"In addition to turning a blind eye towards (if not supporting) secessionist movements, Baku generally follows two paths for promoting the myth of Greater Azerbaijan. One is through the change of Azerbaijani nationals’ perception by manipulating historical realities. Through the publication of books, papers and specific brochures targeting ethnography in several languages “with the support of the officials of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Science and government ministries” and financed heavily by Heydar Aliyev Foundation (Galichian 2012: 38), Azerbaijanis learn a fabricated history which convinces them of their right to demand the integration of the so-called Southern Azerbaijan into the Republic of Azerbaijan. This construction of history has particularly targeted younger generations. In the revised version of Azerbaijan’s curricular books from the fifth grade in primary school up to university, Azerbaijan’s geography is shown as extending far beyond the present territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, covering the whole northwestern part of Iran (AmirAhmadian 2005: 186). The Republic of Azerbaijan is introduced in its curricular history books as an ancient country which has been constantly under the threat of occupation by Persian kings. Iranian public figures, including Nezāmi Ganjavi, Khāghāni, and Khāje Nasir Tusi, are introduced as Azeri public figures, and Iranian cities such as Tabriz and Ardabil are introduced as Azerbaijani cities. The Teacher’s Guidance Book for History specifically introduces Azerbaijan as a sovereign state which was divided in two during the Iran–Russia wars, with the northern part acquiring its independence quickly and the second part remaining under Iran’s occupation (ibid.). Through this strategy, Azerbaijan’s new generation grows up believing that they have territorial rights over Iran’s northwestern provinces." - p. 1989, Iran's Foreign Policy in the South Caucasus: Relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia, Marzieh Kouhi-Esfahani, Routledge}} HistoryofIran (talk) 11:20, 15 September 2024 (UTC) |

:::::::::::Well I am sorry but they are right, Iranian Azerbaijan is Azerbaijan even if not in the same country, they are just influenced by Iran's terrorism and sexism towards women. The Azerbaijanis get racially abused regularly in Iran and marginalised as a minority because Persians despise them. The idea of Azerbaijan and its people has existed for millenia, just under other different predecessor names. Azerbaijanis were known as Caucasian Albanians and Khazars (especially Khazars) and their land has also been known under many different names as well such as the Manna State, Atropatene, Adurbagan, Khazar Khaganate, Caucasian Albania and the Safavids. We had been annexed multiple times as we had annexed other multiple times but the idea of Azerbaijan has always existed just under different names. Iran are one to talk about propaganda, especially when chanting 'Death to America' and thinking of lgbt as a 'western poison'. == Introduction to contentious topics == |
|||
{{ivmbox | image = Commons-emblem-notice.svg |imagesize=50px | bg = #E5F8FF | text = You have recently edited a page related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and <em>does <strong>not</strong> imply that there are any issues with your editing</em>. |
|||
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project. |
|||
Within contentious topics, editors should edit <strong>carefully and constructively</strong>, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and: |
|||
*adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia; |
|||
*comply with all applicable policies and guidelines; |
|||
*follow editorial and behavioural best practices; |
|||
*comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and |
|||
*refrain from gaming the system. |
|||
<p>Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the Ctopics/aware template. </p>}}<!-- Derived from Template:Contentious topics/alert/first --> — <span style="color: #660000">Red-tailed hawk</span> <span style="color: #660000">(nest)</span> 02:06, 2 January 2025 (UTC) |

== Only warning == |
|||
You agreed as a condition of being unblocked . You have made two article content edits since then, both of which violate this restriction.. |
|||
This edit is not exactly compliant with the second restriction either as you did not use the edit request template, but that's not nearly as big of a deal as the other two blatant, seemingly willing violations of the restrictions you agreed to. |
|||
We do usually give users recently subject to topic bans exactly one "free pass" on the offchance they legitimately do not understand how this works. I feel like the restriction was spelled out pretty clearly, but do feel free to ask if you have questions. The general advice in your situation is "if you have to ask if it is is a violation, just assume it is and don't make the edit." |
|||
Further edits that violate the topic ban can and will lead to re-blocking. We are trying to give you another chance here, but you have to hold up your end of the agreement. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 08:31, 6 January 2025 (UTC) |

::Both of your "corrections" violated your topic ban. I don't know how much more clear I can be about this, don't edit content related to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani ethnic identity, or related topics, at all for any reason. You agreed to these terms. If you can't or won't follow them, the agreement is void and your previous block will be re-started, and it is highly unlikely anyone would be willing to lift the block again. [edit]Hello, I'm Yeeno. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, FalleN, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Yeeno (talk) 22:07, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Jony (Russian singer). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

- The article is called "Ottoman-Persian Wars". Therefore it makes sense to refer to refer to the Persian Empire, a common collective name for various historical dynasties of Iran. Take it to the talk page of the article and seek consensus there if you would like to see the nomenclature changed. Please don't leave all-caps messages on people's talk pages. Thanks. - Not per the sources in the links, here is what one of them says;
"The third major nation in South Caucasia,19 the Azerbaijanis, hardly existed as an ethnic group, let alone a nation, before the twentieth century. Ethnicity and Conflict in the Post-Communist World. Palgrave Macmillan. p. 14
- What you're doing right now is called historical revionism, also mentioned in the links;
HistoryofIran (talk) 11:20, 15 September 2024 (UTC)"In addition to turning a blind eye towards (if not supporting) secessionist movements, Baku generally follows two paths for promoting the myth of Greater Azerbaijan. 1989, Iran's Foreign Policy in the South Caucasus: Relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia, Marzieh Kouhi-Esfahani, Routledge
- Well I am sorry but they are right, Iranian Azerbaijan is Azerbaijan even if not in the same country, they are just influenced by Iran's terrorism and sexism towards women. Request reason:
Your reason here I had a talk with the other administors and they had agreed that my block was too harsh, 6 months is too long of a block
Accept reason:
You are unblocked under the following conditions that you have agreed to:
- not to directly edit any pages related to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani ethnic identity, or related topics (broadly construed).
- to use edit requests for any proposed changes, and to discuss on talk pages.
- to read WP:ETHNICPOV.
- not to directly edit any pages related to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani ethnic identity, or related topics (broadly construed).
That last one is not really enforceable, but is certainly good advice. No set time for appeal was discussed but, generally, appeals made less than six months after an editing restriction like this is applied rarely, if ever, succeed, so I would suggest you wait at least that long before appelaing this. Any failure to abide by these conditions is grounds for an immideate re-blocking. Welcome back. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 23:48, 2 January 2025 (UTC)

- This user started a conversation on Discord about 2 weeks ago.
- IIRC, they were quite helpful and polite, and they provided reliable sources for some of their claims.
- I said 6 months felt a bit long for a first block, so an admin might be willing to grant an unblock request.
- I suggested they pledge not to make any edits related to Azerbaijan or Azeri ethnic identity without first discussing the edit on the talk page.
- I'd also suggest creating an account before any more editing, which will make it easier for us to track whether you've been following these rules.
- I'm not an admin, so I can't unblock them, but I suggested this as a reasonable plan that an admin (e.g. @Bastique) might be willing to accept. – Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 21:13, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the template.

Only warning
[edit]You agreed as a condition of being unblocked not to directly edit any pages related to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani ethnic identity, or related topics (broadly construed)
. You have made two article content edits since then, both of which violate this restriction.[5][6].
This edit [7] is not exactly compliant with the second restriction either as you did not use the edit request template, but that's not nearly as big of a deal as the other two blatant, seemingly willing violations of the restrictions you agreed to.
We do usually give users recently subject to topic bans exactly one "free pass" on the offchance they legitimately do not understand how this works. I feel like the restriction was spelled out pretty clearly, but do feel free to ask if you have questions. The general advice in your situation is "if you have to ask if it is is a violation, just assume it is and don't make the edit."
Further edits that violate the topic ban can and will lead to re-blocking. We are trying to give you another chance here, but you have to hold up your end of the agreement. Beeblebrox Beebletalks 08:31, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- I was just making a few corrections 82.44.247.44 (talk) 19:36, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Both of your "corrections" violated your topic ban.
