Premise

A true story that follows seasoned deep-sea divers as they battle the raging elements to rescue their crew mate trapped hundreds of feet below the ocean's surface.[2]

In May 2022, it was announced that Alex Parkinson was directing a narrative film remake of his 2019 documentary, with Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu and Djimon Hounsou cast to star.[3]

Principal photography began in Malta in May 2023 with plans to run through July with Finn Cole joining the cast.[4]

In May 2024, Focus Features acquired North American and select international distribution rights to the film, while FilmNation Entertainment co-financed the film and handled international sales.[5]
