Keep Only because of the size of the force, but right now it needs a major update and neutralization going from the article body saying the force's required cell phone is a Blackberry; most of the sources are PRIMARY as-is. Nate • (chatter) 23:55, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merge: Can this be merged with its parent page Karnataka Police, much of the content (especially Insignia) seems redundant. Some of the content or references need over-haul or could be specific to State police at hand. For example Template:Indian Police Service Officer Ranks used at this page derives references from Maharashtra Police, Kerala Police or Odisha Police sources Nisingh.8 (talk) 10:10, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Keep — (soft) — Generally agree with Nate; However, I agree that the primary sourcing is an issue. That being said, as an experienced editor within the law enforcement side of Wikipedia, this is, to be entirely fair the case with a significant number of LEAs’ pages across Wikipedia. It doesn’t make it okay. But… consider WP:NOTLEVEL. We’re simply not going to find the same level of secondary sources one might see with the Massachusetts State Police or the FBI, for example. I would proffer a soft oppose to a merge with the Karnataka State Police, as that article seemingly has the exact same issues as this one, with only, what, two secondary sources which only cover unimportant aspects of the article. Do we even have a secondary source that confirms the agency in-question is actually under the KSP? Just sayin’. MWFwiki (talk) 20:52, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. Yes the article needs overhauling but there's not an issue with notability. Many recent news and book articles include content on technology being employed by Bengaluru police. For example, security cameras [1] and here [2]; mobile fingerprint tracking [3]. Don't see a strong case for merging as sources specifically relate to the city police force, not the state. Keep. The article is bad, but more due to a lack of substance than a problem with the existing content. As such I'd say this isn't TNT-worthy, and as the police force of a city of 8 million (more, really, that number is severely out of date) notability isn't in doubt.
