Sid Eudy → Sid Vicious – 'Sid Vicious' is the stage name of pro wrestler Sid Eudy. it is under this name that has won ALL of his numerous titles, including the titles in WCW and the WWF (now WWE). As per Wikipedia policy, I ask his entry be moved to his widely known stage name and out of his unknown (by large) real name. |

* Oppose - John Simon Ritchie was known as "Sid Vicious" throughout his relatively short career. Nobody outside of his family and friends knew him as any other name, and that's the name he's remembered by today. Sid Eudy wrestled under a variety of gimmicks before Sid Vicious, including Lord Humongous, and four or so gimmicks he had in WWE ("Sid Justice", "Psycho Sid", "Sycho Sid", "S.I.D."). So while he started and finished out his WCW career as Sid Vicious, he's had too many gimmicks for his entry to be moved to just one. Think of Charles Wright. He was Papa Shango, Kama Mustafa, The Godfather, etc. Too many wrestling gimmicks to move an entry to just one name. |
|||
SIDE-NOTE: Eudy said in an interview that he wanted to use "Sid Vicious" during his WWE stints, but WWE Legal told him that "Sid Vicious is copyrighted by a punk-rock singer." Sid replied, "The guy's dead," but the lawyers told him that his mother owns the name. If this is true, then legally the "Sid Vicious" entry belongs to Ritchie. Haha. I'm new at this, but let me comment about Sid Eudy's supposed physical stature. I have noticed that Sid is at least a couple inches taller than Hulk Hogan, who is generally said to be 6'7". At least that's what it looks like on "teewee!" Does Sid wear elevator boots? As far as Sid's weight is concerned, he always looked to me like he weighed considerably more than the stated 317! 380# may not be overstating it. Anyway you look at him, he is a big, big man, Big Sid! <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.54.154.114 (talk) 12:54, 23 October 2007 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot--> |

It´s proven that his real birthdate is 12/16/60 (police-mughot from 2006, see also IMDB), but here the bullshit goes on with 4/7/60 - that is Barry Windhams birthdate, not Sid Eudy´s! |
|||
Sid´s height: his peak was 2,02 m barefoot (6-7,5), now he is about 1,99m (6-6,5). |

It is a matter of dispute whether he was suppose to kick out of the legdrop or if Charles Wright aka Papa Shango missed his mark to interfere. Some accuse Sid of purposely kicking out and this lead to his termination. Kyros 02:11, 10 April 2006 (UTC) |

The USWA once had a wrestler going by the ring name "Johnny Rotten" whom they claimed was Sid's brother, but it's incredibly hard to find any info on this guy and whether he's actually Sid Eudy's brother or if it was just a play on his "Sid Vicious" name. If anyone has any info or sources on this guy, I think it would warrant at least a brief mention in the article. :Sid Vicious (wrestler) → Sid Eudy – There is no clear rationale for having the page at the Sid Vicious ring name as opposed to "Sycho Sid" or "Sid Justice". The current title is not ideal since it is clunky and is likely to result in confusion with the musician. Moving the page to the individual's real name is the most balanced approach. *::::As a guy named after Hulk Hogan, I'm going to have to disagree with you there, brother. The WWF only started really losing fans (leading to the New Generation Era of Plain Sid Days in the Million Dollar Corporation) in late 1992. No more Bulldog, no more Ultimate Warrior, no Warlord, no Barbarian and no Sid Justice. Before then, VIII was "indeed a happening" and the smarks still generally agree that year's Royal Rumble was the Royal Rumble. Hogan, Flair and Taker helped, but Savage, Roberts and Justice were on the same level, even in the same matches. The Attitude Era was hot, too, it's just not a Golden Era. This is the Smark Era, where wrestling fans by and large know all that and real names. They've heard about and from Sid Eudy on YouTube (and if the above section's legit, on Facebook, Twitter and Wikipedia). The few dinosaurs who still bother typing out their search terms probably can't even spell "Sycho" without getting "autocorrected". Some lore, like the scissor incident and his death, transcends this geekdom. Wherein the overall topic is Sid Eudy, that's appropriate for all Sid-related situations herein, even beyond 1997. *Oppose I was not familiar with this guy and so don't have any preconceptions. To see how a newspaper of record treats the issue, I consulted the NYT whose obituary is headlined, "". This indicates that he had multiple well-known aliases but still chooses to start with his personal name. It presents this in a vernacular way as it later explains that his full legal name was "Sidney Raymond Eudy". The current title seems consistent with this respectable treatment as a reasonable balance between formality and fantasy. *Weak Oppose In the past, professional wrestlers who were known under multiple ring names got their articles moved to their real name if no one ring name stood out as the WP:COMMONNAME. This wasn't really policy compliant, and articles ended up with obscure titles like Mark LoMonaco and Nelson Frazier Jr. that would confuse even hardcore wrestling fans. This one isn't obscure at all though, The New York Times and other high-profile non-industry specific sources feel comfortable running with it in their headlines. I don't think Sycho Sid is any more well known than Sid Vicious (which is what this article used to be titled), Sid Justice or just plain Sid. Since Sycho Sid doesn't have any greater claim to COMMONNAME than the others (including simply going by his first name), I don't see any issue with the current title.LM2000 (talk) 19:14, 28 August 2024 (UTC) |

*:What WWE owns doesn't matter. It's about how the wrestler is named by reliable sources and, after his death, many sources use other names rather than Sycho Sid. Also, the article has been named Sid Eudy, Sid Vicious and Sycho Sid over the years. (in fact, the article was named Sid Eudy when it was created) --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 19:00, 1 September 2024 (UTC) |

*:That's a fine recollection of history you have there, but it doesn't quite jibe with what most believe to be reality. "Curt Hennig" and "Sid Vicious" both predate their WWF runs and WCW itself. Viscera was never King of the Ring, never World Tag Team Champion, never headlined SummerSlam and never challenged for the big belt, but the article is named Viscera (wrestler) regardless (you'd have nothing to change). *Support Unfortunately he is not here to speak for himself but I believe he would want to be remembered as the moniker he took during his last big run in the WWE, Sycho Sid. Indeed he has had many names, but his Sycho Sid run was his best run. He was billed to be a heel but the fans loved him all the same, he had true heat and was far over and he made the WWE title look good while wearing it. As it is with most articles, his real name can be in parenthesis. --ZephalX (talk) 14:00, 2 September 2024 (UTC) |

*:He wanted to be remembered as "Sycho Sid Vicious". At least that's what we can gather from his (or his agent's) social media ad a few sections up. We're probably going to ignore that request, as we did in life. No article title has a real name in parentheses. Some have job descriptions and some have dates. His last run was fine. *Oppose. On his Instagram, he used Sid Eudy. I'm sure more devoted wrestling fans could argue over which of his ring names was best known (my memory of him is as Sid Justice in games like Steel Cage Challenge), but there's no controversy as to who the man really was, which makes it a more suitable title. [edit]Sid in Stampede Wrestling?
[edit]I read on ObsessedWithWrestling.com that Sid Vicious was in Stampede Wrestling during the 2000's or so. I want to know if anyone can verify this. fishhead2100 12:03PM, April 27 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, it is possible that he competed in smaller wrestling federations (as is the norm in most wrestling promotions with the exception of TNA) while he worked at WCW. That is very possible, but difficult to verify.--Screwball23 talk 20:28, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Bischoff, not Russo; scissors, not squeegee.
[edit]The presumably embarrassing confrontation with Pillman would later be referenced by Vince Russo as he stripped Eudy of his WCW World Heavy title and, in response to Eudy's reaction, said something along the lines of "What are you going to do? Are you going to go and get your squeegee?"
The above paragraph is innaccurate. It was Eric Bischoff who confronted Sid to strip him of the WCW World Heavyweight title on the April 10, 2000 edition of Nitro, pointedly asking Sid if he was "going to get his scissors" when he initially refused to hand over the title. This should be corrected in the article.
- Sorry, I added that. Although it appears the piece has been erased entirely. I think it was a perfectly fine statement to leave in, given it was corrected. -- Caleson 6/23/06
Discrete Vandalism
[edit]Last sentence in 'Career' Section:
He competed mainly on the Memphis, Tennessee, and Georgia wrestling circuits where he captured several regional STDs.
Just wondering in the last sentence what is meant by STD's? Is this vandalism, or does it have a different meaning. And if it does I believe it should be clarified in the article JohnstonDJ 04:13, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
In the 'Back in WCW' section this appears in the last sentence:
Eudy has since apologized to Anderson for the incident and the pair are on magic mushrooms today.
I will correct this but these two items I've found has lead me to believe that their has been a lot of discrete vandalism on these pages. I wont have caught it all, and If someone more clued up than me on the subject can give it a browse and check, that would be much appreciated. JohnstonDJ 04:22, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Looking through I have found another couple, they seem to be at the end's of sections, just stupid one-line pieces of junk. JohnstonDJ 04:22, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
"Urban legends"
[edit]This section currently reads:
- Among wrestling fans and fellow wrestlers, Eudy developed a colorful reputation that spawned several urban legends and amusing anecdotes. Besides his confrontation with Arn Anderson, Eudy allegedly was involved in a bar fight with wrestler Brian Pillman. It is said that Eudy fled the bar only to return, brandishing a squeegee as a weapon. The attempted threat would result in mere laughter among the bar's inhabitants.
- At a house show, not Wrestlemania 13, one popular urban myth is that, during his match with The Undertaker, Sid had soiled himself shortly after the match had begun, which ended with a tombstone finisher from the unknowing 'Taker. The Undertaker confirmed this story in an interview on the TSN show Off the Record. [citation needed]
Personally, I'm inclined to believe both stories. But Wikipedia policy clearly states: Controversial material that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libelous. (See the top of this page.) Can anyone defend the inclusion of these uncited, unsourced claims? Should we open an RFC on the Living Persons Biographies Noticeboard, or should we just delete the entire section? Cribcage 05:41, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Controversial or not, Sid pooped his pants and everybody knows it. It's real, it's DAMN real. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.69.137.201 (talk) 05:38, 10 January 2007 (UTC).
*At a house show, not Wrestlemania 13, one popular urban myth is that, during his match with The Undertaker, Sid defecated in his tights shortly after the match had begun, which ended with a Tombstone Piledriver from the unknowing Undertaker. The Undertaker confirmed this story in an interview on the TSN show Off the Record. His high school principal confirmed that Sid had bowel control problems all through school. He even joked that he once took a crap in the lunch room when he turned his back to the potatoes to grab a spoon. "Haha, yeah, old Sid sharted all over the potatoes, and people thought it was the new chunky gravy. It was amazing."
I can find nothing that references this event on Google except sites that syndicate the content from this page. I have removed it rather than requested citation because it seems closely connected with other simple vandalism by anon IPs on this page and because nobody has given a reference in response to the earlier posts here. If anyone can provide a citation for this claim please add it back in. Feebtlas 15:03, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. The video of Undertaker on TSN's Off The Record was circulating (albeit illegally) on Youtube for a while. Undertaker made NO reference to Sid ever defecating himself. It's just another silly wrestling rumor with zero factual basis other than hearsay; just like the "two Ultimate Warriors" myth. Complete nonsense. Possible Return To WWE

Theme Song

Early Career
[edit]This paragraph is a mess. I did what I could, but it has absolutely no flow, rhyme or rhythm. It seems like a bunch of random facts glued together. The first three sentences make no sense. A reader has no idea what this means.
Sid Eudy entered the wrestling industry after an encounter with Randy Savage and his brother Lanny Poffo. What happened on that encounter? Was it kayfabe, a meeting outside of the ring, inside the ring?
Eudy was trained by Tojo Yamamoto. Okay, when and where?
In his debut match, Eudy teamed with Austin Idol and wrestled the team of Nick Bockwinkel and Jerry Lawler. What year? Wait, what happened between Eudy/Savage and Poffo? I'm confused Angrymansr 20:08, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Stop vandalizing
[edit]Will these vandals stop messing with this page, you have screwed around with Sid's birthplace, removed the info pane on the side, and other crap. I basically had to list Sid's past personas from memory. I had to restore that whole damn thing. And yet somebody manages to mess a majority the WWE section of his career. Please stop with the damn vandalizing. Thank You.TonyO13 (talk) 20:13, 2 July 2008 (UTC) TonyO13
Thank You
[edit]Thanks for who ever put up the picture of Sid, and putting the "where ever he darn well pleases". I knew was forgetting something. And there is still the matter of fixing the Second WWE run. But this is a start.03:10, 13 July 2008 (UTC) TonyO13
Return to Wrestline?
[edit]can anyone site a source that says he's returning at SummerSlam? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.235.162.145 (talk) 02:52, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
- Anything about Sid returning is just a rumor until there are reliable sources cited, and I will remove anything that spreads rumors. — Moe ε 06:27, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
WWE?
[edit]no, no, no, every single rumor i have read involves him going to TNA (even though its still a load of crap). that seriously needs to be mentioned. KP317 00:54, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia isn't a rumor mill, nothing will be added unless it is an actual fact, not something pulled out of someones ass. — Moe ε 00:52, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Brother?
[edit]The USWA once had a wrestler going by the ring name "Johnny Rotten" whom they claimed was Sid's brother, but it's incredibly hard to find any info on this guy and whether he's actually Sid Eudy's brother or if it was just a play on his "Sid Vicious" name. If anyone has any info or sources on this guy, I think it would warrant at least a brief mention in the article. Johnny Rotten should not be confused with either Axl or Ian Rotten, two other wrestlers, just wanted to make sure no one thinks I'm mistakenly thinking of them.76.226.112.55 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 04:01, 18 June 2011 (UTC).

Sid Vicious (wrestler) → Sid (wrestler) – I don't see how "Sid Vicious" takes precedence over "Sid Justice" or "Sycho Sid." I think the page should be moved to a name that is representative of all three of his common ring names. GeicoHen (talk) 07:56, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose - per WP:TITLECHANGES. Specifically: "While titles for articles are subject to consensus, do not invent names as a means of compromising between opposing points of view." He was billed as Sid Vicious as well as Sid Justice and Sycho Sid, but not really just plain "Sid". Typically for wrestlers who achieved success under multiple billed names we just go with their real name. If that were the case would support a move to Sid Eudy.LM2000 (talk) 07:32, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Sid Vicious (wrestler) → Sid Eudy – There is no clear rationale for having the page at the Sid Vicious ring name as opposed to "Sycho Sid" or "Sid Justice". The current title is not ideal since it is clunky and is likely to result in confusion with the musician. Moving the page to the individual's real name is the most balanced approach. McPhail (talk) 19:50, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- Support. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 22:30, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- Support no real evidence that this version of his ring name is so much better known than the others that any one should be chosen over the others. Plus it has a parenthetical disambiguator, a construct that should be avoided if at all possible. Here it is very possible, be ause of the multiple ring names, which itself tells us to leave it at his real name. oknazevad (talk) 18:48, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- Support Almost brought this up a week or so ago, but something must have happened. Fair balance for the few big names (he was simply Sid for a bit). Also the shortest possible, which works out nicely. InedibleHulk (talk) 19:05, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- Support You can see from my comments in the previous discussion that I suggested this. I forgot to ever propose this though. LM2000 (talk) 13:43, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Verified Facebook for Sycho Sid Vicious
[edit]Sycho Sid Vicious isn't dead, isn't retired, and isn't tweeting Monday nights on Twitter. He's on Facebook as Sycho Sid Vicious at www.facebook.com/sychosidvicious/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED, is verified, and is still wrestling in MCW Osceola wrestling organization. While waiting to hear back from WWE he has turned down TNA's offer recently to focus MORE on his return as noted on his verified Facebook page. You can book Sycho Sid Vicious at RealSychoSid.com for wrestling events or for shoot interviews. Requested move
[edit]Sid Eudy → Sycho Sid – at no point was Sid ever known by his real name, so I find his being located at Eudy being confusing. I see there's prior rationale being debate over whether Sycho or Vicious was the common name. That'll probably be needed to be sorted through this discussion, but the point remains that to me, Eudy was not the common name, and is inappropriate the keep the page hosted at that location. - Oppose As I said ten years ago, he's commonly known as Sid, Sid Vicious, Sid Justice and Sycho Sid. There are fine cases to be made for all of them (less fine for plain Sid). This is the common name in a common denominator sense, the one anyone scratching the surface of any Sid iteration will know was behind it. InedibleHulk (talk) 22:13, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- The problem is Sid Eudy was not one of the commonly known names. Rusted AutoParts 22:27, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- I don't see that as a problem. Like how some people don't see adding a year not present in any source to a disaster article's title as a problem. COMMONNAME is one of the most ignored rules there is, and that was also fine here for the last ten years of Sid Eudy's life. InedibleHulk (talk) 22:38, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- It's misleading though, in my opinion. By and large for people it was Sid Vicious or Sycho Sid. COMMONNAME being an ignored rule I don't think really makes for a good reason to keep an article hosted at a place people aren't thinking to search for. Rusted AutoParts 23:34, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- As a guy named after Hulk Hogan, I'm going to have to disagree with you there, brother. The WWF only started really losing fans (leading to the New Generation Era of Plain Sid Days in the Million Dollar Corporation) in late 1992. No more Bulldog, no more Ultimate Warrior, no Warlord, no Barbarian and no Sid Justice. Before then, WrestleMania VIII was "indeed a happening" and the smarks still generally agree that year's Royal Rumble was the Royal Rumble. I think we still both agree that Sid Vicious and Lord Humongous can be thrown on the Nope Pile. InedibleHulk (talk) 02:49, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- As I articulated in my rationale for launching this discussion: "I see there's prior rationale being debate over whether Sycho or Vicious was the common name". I suppose Justice can be factored in there too, but as I also articulated "the point remains that to me, Eudy was not the common name, and is inappropriate the keep the page hosted at that location". At no point did Sid ever come to the ring, in his most noted tenures throughout his career, under the name Sid Eudy. Rusted AutoParts 03:05, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- If you're genuinely concerned about people finding this article, it might make you feel better to know that very thing is the top Google hit for just plain "sid" tonight. When I Google, anyway. That's not counting news, much more transient (but all the news right now seems just about this Sid we know). InedibleHulk (talk) 03:11, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- There's also the Shirley Crabtree precedent to consider, as Andrew "Test" Davidson brought to my attention shortly before I knew Justice was dead. I added the "Test" part later, against his will. But most people know that giant of sport as Big Daddy, even the Queen. Maybe you can refunnel your energy toward that one. Or accept it as the way things sometimes go. InedibleHulk (talk) 03:17, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- I've notified Andrew of this discussion, but only because it was his idea that brought us to this point. It's not canvassing since I have no idea if he'll even vote, much less which way. I don't think any of us know that. InedibleHulk (talk) 03:41, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- I may as well more directly address your inappropriateness point while it's just you and me. The thing to remember is we're not just hosting content about Sycho Sid here. A good deal of what today's savvy mark knows are the parts we tell them about the softball, squeegee and scissors. That's pure Eudy "shoot material". Some lore, like the scissor incident and his death, transcends this geekdom. Wherein the overall topic is Sid Eudy, that's appropriate for all Sid-related situations herein, even beyond 1997. So we're both right, in my opinion, on what's wrong. InedibleHulk (talk) 04:09, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- As I articulated in my rationale for launching this discussion: "I see there's prior rationale being debate over whether Sycho or Vicious was the common name". COMMONNAME is one of the most ignored rules there is, and that was also fine here for the last ten years of Sid Eudy's life. InedibleHulk (talk) 22:38, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- The problem is Sid Eudy was not one of the commonly known names. Rusted AutoParts 22:27, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose I was not familiar with this guy and so don't have any preconceptions. To see how a newspaper of record treats the issue, I consulted the NYT whose obituary is headlined, "
Sid Eudy, Wrestler Known as ‘Sid Vicious’ and ‘Sycho Sid,’ Dies at 63
". Andrew🐉(talk) 06:29, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- Support per WP:COMMONNAME. Most professional wrestler wikis use the most common ring name of the given wrestler as the page name, so I feel that it's warranted here. Sycho Sid was most certainly his most popular ring name.
- Weak Oppose In the past, professional wrestlers who were known under multiple ring names got their articles moved to their real name if no one ring name stood out as the WP:COMMONNAME. Since Sycho Sid doesn't have any greater claim to COMMONNAME than the others (including simply going by his first name), I don't see any issue with the current title.LM2000 (talk) 19:14, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- Nelson Frazier Jr. didn't end up at his previously obscure name at all and you know it. Trying to weaken the opposition and/or gaslight hardcore wrestling fans into thinking they're the Confused is all rather convenient, if some historically noncompliant policymaker were to plan another attack on democracy, in a fortnight, ten years later. You wouldn't happen to know anyone fitting that infamous description, now would you? Seriously though, it's OK, I get it. Learning new things is hard and we were all relatively worse versions of ourselves in the past. Cheers! InedibleHulk (talk) 04:42, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- I think you and I talk about the Mr. Frazier move nearly every time we talk these days, which is admittedly not very much. In any case, our discussions about his name are remarkable enough that the Nelson Frazier Jr. name could lay claim to WP:COMMONNAME. I'd go ahead and move the article myself, but I am not longer as bold as the LM2000 from a decade ago. LM2000 (talk) 05:24, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- Well, until someone "makes things right", that's "the price you pay". Damnatio aeterna. "No hard feelings." InedibleHulk (talk) 05:36, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose Sycho Sid wasn’t his only memorable ring name. Sid Justice and Sid Vicious are up there as well. 💥Casualty • Hop along. • 20:26, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
WeakOppose. After his death, reliable sources called him under many different names, no clear WP:COMMONNAME. Reading only headers, PWInsider used Sid Vicious, or Sid "Vicious" Eudy, Superluchas Sycho Sid Vicious, Solowrestling Sycho Sid Vicious, Fightful Sid (Sycho Sid), Figure 4 Sid Vicious, PWTorch Sid Eudy, Sid Justice and Sid Vicious, Mediotiempo Sycho Sid, WWE Sid Eudy, TNA Wrestling Sid Vicious. Only headers, usually sources state that he worked as Sid Justice, Sid Vicious and Sycho Sid. I don't see Sycho Sid as the COMMONNAME. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 10:04, 29 August 2024 (UTC)- Oppose Looking at the article for John Tenta, I don't think he ever wrestled under this name, but used many names such as Earthquake, Avalanche, Golga, etc... Same for Fred Ottman, wrestling as Tugboat, Typhoon, The Shockmaster, etc... These are just two examples of wrestlers who used various names and gimmicks, but are listed under their real name in Wikipedia. Since there is not one consensus of which name to use, I believe Sid Eudy should remain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chuffman.mt (talk • contribs) 16:46, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

- You are correct, I missed that. But Tenta's run under his name was certainly not the main part of his career. Chuffman.mt (talk) 17:19, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- Another example Sean Waltman, who performed under a variety of ring names as 1–2–3 Kid, Kamikaze Kid, X-Pac (known for WWF/E in 1998–2002, and was a member of D-Generation X), Syxx, Syxx-Pac, etc. AmritR012 (talk) 10:59, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose - He was about equally known as Sid Vicious and Sycho Sid (and to a little lesser degree as Sid Justice). The Kip (contribs) 04:28, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose Mainstream sources writing with a historical perspective are using his personal name. "Former WWE champ Sid Eudy, known as 'Sid Vicious,' dies at 63" (ESPN), "Sid Eudy, 63, Dies; Wrestler Known as ‘Sid Vicious’ (Among Other Names)" (The New York Times), "Pro wrestling legend Sid Eudy, known to fans as Sid Vicious, dies at 63" (NBC News). Even the WWE (not even any ring names): "Sid Eudy passes away"[1]—Bagumba (talk) 10:45, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- Support Psyco Sid would be better to locate and it was his original name. the only reason he couldn't use it is because WWE likes to own the moniker. hence why he changed his name in WCW. I also saw Viscera as a real name article I would change it to Viscera as he did more stuff than Mabel never understood why these two wrestlers were given their real names but you have The Undertaker on Mark Calloway. I understand names change but that's because WWE likes to keep them but most notable names should be placed. Curt Hennig also has his real name but everybody calls him Mr. Perfect even though he couldn't take it to WCW. SC30002001 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.203.217.248 (talk) 05:05, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- What WWE owns doesn't matter. It's about how the wrestler is named by reliable sources and, after his death, many sources use other names rather than Sycho Sid. Also, the article has been named Sid Eudy, Sid Vicious and Sycho Sid over the years. (in fact, the article was named Sid Eudy when it was created) --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 19:00, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
- That's a fine recollection of history you have there, but it doesn't quite jibe with what most believe to be reality. InedibleHulk (talk) 23:29, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks I could have sworn I saw viscera with his real name. 47.203.217.248 (talk) 09:37, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Support Unfortunately he is not here to speak for himself but I believe he would want to be remembered as the moniker he took during his last big run in the WWE, Sycho Sid. Indeed he has had many names, but his Sycho Sid run was his best run. He was billed to be a heel but the fans loved him all the same, he had true heat and was far over and he made the WWE title look good while wearing it. As it is with most articles, his real name can be in parenthesis. --ZephalX (talk) 14:00, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- He wanted to be remembered as "Sycho Sid Vicious". At least that's what we can gather from his (or his agent's) social media ad a few sections up. We're probably going to ignore that request, as we did in life. No article title has a real name in parentheses. Some have job descriptions and some have dates. His last run was fine. InedibleHulk (talk) 23:29, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Comment [2] A billboard in Memphis calls him Sid Vicious. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 18:26, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. On his Instagram, he used Sid Eudy. I'm sure more devoted wrestling fans could argue over which of his ring names was best known (my memory of him is as Sid Justice in games like Steel Cage Challenge), but there's no controversy as to who the man really was, which makes it a more suitable title.
