Mr. Jelinčič is a Slovenian nationalist, and is acting sharply against the Croatian involvement on Slovene territory, which Croatia claims as its own, but actually lies on disputed territory and is said to be historically unredeemed territory of Slovenia. He claims to have nothing against minorities in Slovenia and is in contact with former Yugoslav states, with the exception of Croatia. He also helped to publish the book of "Psunjski" called "Hrvati v luči zgodovinske resnice" (Croats in light of historic truth) in which he reveals thieving and malicious nature of a tribe called Croatians, who turned against their brothers and were constantly faking history for their own gain. His political attitudes are somewhat left wing (which he referred to himself in Mladina magazine) and populist. He is also a great admirer of Tito and even commemorated him by erecting a statue of him in his own garden and allows visitors to visit the statue and pay their respects any time on 23rd of December (Slovene independence day) and 25th of May. |
