They will be held from January 7th through January 12th of 2008, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The championship is the Under-18 junior ice hockey edition of the women worlds, held under the auspices of the IIHF. The inauural competition will feature two groups of nations in round robin play, followed by playoffs. There will be eight national teams. The IIHF Women's U18 World Championships are the junior edition of the IIHF Women's World Championships. The champioships are limited to female ice hockey players under 18 years of age. This junior ice hockey tournament is held under the auspicies of the IIHF, and is the female counterpart of both the WJHC and the IIHF World U18 Championships. The inaugural championships were held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in January 2008. Previous Season In the 2007-2008 College Football Season the USC Trojans were ranked preseason No.1, but early injuries hurt them and caused them to loose a stunner to Stanford in which there Quarterback John David Bootygot injured. Then USC lost to Oregon and it looked like there season was over but they got healthy and managed to win the Pac-10 and the Rose Bowlat the end of the season they and the Georgia Bulldogs were considered the hottest teams. As Village it is politically dependent of its parish. The agricultural zone of the village are separated by the main river "Rio Grande", and are famous for their fertility, because the land are seen in the bed of the river, receiving every year new layers of sand and organic matter. History Contrary to what many people think, the Nadrupe is not a recent village. Its origins go back to the XII century, when Lourinhã was donated to his first owner D. Jordan, with French origins. The village appears first referenced in the letter given to charter Lourinhã in 1160, so that the village had same rights of the county seat. Later, the village appears in another document, when D. John III orders the first general census of the Portuguese population, in 1527. In the twentieth century, the village was invaded by a surge of emigration. The flow of immigrants towards France was so great that Nadrupenses are now known as "The French". Heritage Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Graça Built in 1869 by the vote of the inhabitants of the village to Our Lady for this Tuesday rid of the epidemic of yellow fever. It is a very simple construction. The facade of beak, classic model, presents a window over the main door. The bell tower, on the left, has a door for the churchyard. Linked to this festival, is also the tradition of the arc, which is the drafting of an arc with around 20m. This arc is decorated with murta Myrtus, lights and flowers and has always religious grounds. The whole arc is rebuilt every year. Every year, on May 13 (day of Our Lady of Fatima), is held in the village the contest of gardens, who dispute among themselves the title of most beautiful garden of the village. They are common in the gardens Sardinheiras and seasonal plants such as lilies (Lilium) and the Jacintos (Hyacinthus). It is also the day which makes the Christian tradition of the procession of candles. Gastronomy Entries: Stew of Gizzard; Olives Stuffed with tomato; Soups: Cream of Seafood; Green Broth; (Soup made of potato will, strips of Portuguese cabbage and Slices of Portuguese sausage) The Stone Soup; Dishes: Stew of eels; Caldeirada à Nadrupe; (Stew with various kinds of fish, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, etc.) Cod of Dolores; (Secret recipe) Papas de Sarrabulho; (Stew of potatoes, heart, lungs and meat of the pig with sauce of blood) Desserts: Arrufada of coconut and chocolate; (Arrufada is a type of sweet bread) Marble Cake; Soaked of orange; After the meal is usual drink a Bica. It is also customary drink a tea (typically Lemon or Erva Cidreira, grown in the gardens of the houses). Curiosity Although it is common repetition of names in Portuguese villages, the village of Nadrupe is the only of his name in Portugal. The village had a Roman bridge that fell due to flooding of 90 decade. The entire village and the surrounding land within a radius of 1km belonged to a single large property, the Quinta da Galeana. Today, with more than 300 years, the property account with only 35 Ha located on the village opposite bank of the river. In 2005 it was found a skeleton of a dinosaur in the village, near the Quinta da Galeana. He is a native of city of Mersin, Turkey. He has received his degree in folklore and music at Gazi University, Ankara, Turkey. Later, he taught traditional music throughout Turkey for a while, after which he managed Ankara Folk Theater (Ankara Halk Tiyatrosu). He also received additional degrees in Turkish History and Middle East Religion and Politics from Ankara University. Later, he moved to United States, where he received an MBA from San Francisco State University. Later, he settled down in the US, and he has presented concerts and lectures at colleges, universities, performing arts institutions and festivals across the US, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Bulgaria, Philippines, Scotland, Singapore, Indonesia and Turkey. With a vast repertory that includes songs in classical, folk and Sufi mystic music styles, he accompanies his singing on the baglama (long-necked lute), and various other traditional instruments from the Turkish folk music tradition. He specializes in the ancient Turkish mystic-devotional music genre. During his concerts, he creates an intimate, almost "storytelling" atmosphere and he explains Turkish folk and mystic music and its sociopolitical and cultural elements. The performance both entertains and invites the audience to ponder questions such as how major sociopolitical factors influence culture and the art it produces. He usually performs with his ensemble, which is called "Latif Bolat Ensemble". The ensemblke includes other Turkish folk music performers. The ensemble's concerts usually consists of an evening concert, one or more lectures or workshops, and may include an informal question/answer session. Pratt started his career working in sales at Sears, Roebuck, and Company. In 1924 Pratt published a book entitled Selling by Mail: Principles and Practice . He started a company called the Sales Guild Company. In the 1920s he ran a small advertising company called Pratt and Lindsey out of 461 Eighth Avenue in New York. During this time period Pratt lived in a house now known as the Keeler-Pratt house in the Silvermine area of Norwalk, Connecticut. His laboratory and studio was the 1876 carriage barn on the property. By the 1930s Pratt was also renting an apartment in the building at 102 Bedford Street in New York's Greenwich Village. Pratt invented the Optigraph an early microfilm reader. This development led to the formation of the International Filmbook company to manufacture and sell microfilm reading equipment. An innovative approach to film reading was the use of cassettes that allowed for rotating the view of the film. Unfortunately, the expense of this innovation led to the bankrupty of International Filmbook . Along with Edmund C. Pratt Verneur was awarded United States Patent 2999477 for a fire alarm (September 12, 1961). Edmund Pratt and the estate of Verneur Pratt were also been assigned United States Patent 3388245 (invention attributed to Donald R. Larsen) for a Multicolor lighting apparatus (July 11, 1968).
