Dispute on FGC
I would have been here sooner, but I got a call from a friend (at 12:30 at night!) who has a kidney infection. She wanted my adivce on what to do; I told her my specialty is theology not peeology and that just because I have Dr. in front of my name doesn't mean I practice medicine! (Actually, I told her to go to the ER if she felt that bad.) Anywho, good work! -- Essjay · Talk 04:46, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:DBBOTD.jpg
I'm a Dr. because I have two doctorate degrees (four if you count honorary degrees), although I'm only called "Dr." in academic circles. Hummm...I don't know! You tell me. I don't talk about the degrees much because I don't want people to assume things about me; for the most part, I have them listed there because they can be of some help when someone is wondering whether I know what I'm talking about or not. So, if you hadn't noticed my academic creds, what did you think about me? -- Essjay · Talk 04:58, July 14, 2005 (UTC)

:Well I'll try to be NPOV about it. :P I think of you as a very kind user who chases vandals. I haven't seen you contribute to articles lately, just reverting vandalism. NPOV is hard ya know >.< Anyways I'll show my education after I become an admin, though I was just wondering if anyone would vote for me really... Yes I welcome and yes I've created a lot of music related articles and I've been very active but I don't revert vandalism that much. So I'm not sure I'll win the first RfA... Ah well though, if at first you don't suceed, try and try again. Redwolf24 05:05, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

Well, I wasn't sure how mine would go, and I have 27-1-1! Granted, there's still a week to go, but some RfA's don't get 27 votes total in the whole week. TenOfAllTrades is pretty popular, and he got 58 support votes total; I've gotten half that in the first day! My point isn't to brag at all, just to say, you never know! ==Disputed fair use rationale for Image:DYDY.jpg==
I think you'll do fine. You do a fair bit of helping, and it's obvious you're willing to help when asked. As for the desks, you can watch them too if you want, it honestly doesn't tak much time. When it comes time to answer those questions, if you're having trouble, I'll help you out. Plus, you know I'm going to give you awesome reviews in your nom!

Thanks for uploading :Image:Alexwebb.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as non-free fair use in or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following [ this link]. ==Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group==
Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.

I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided. Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!

Help
Hello. You previously voted in the 2006 AfD for Suri Cruise. At the time, Suri was less than 10 days old, and the ultimate verdict was to turn the article into a redirect to her mother's page.
Thanks for writing back.

Since then, Suri has become much more notable in her own right as a toddler fashion icon, with over 13 million hits on google image search. After getting an administrator to lift the protection on the redirect, I recently restored the article as a stub, but an editor who believes that "6 year olds are not inherently notable" has again requested deletion.
I already entered my revisions and saved.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate your making your opinion known at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Suri Cruise (2nd nomination) Warren Dew (talk) 07:38, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Alexwebb.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alexwebb.jpg.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:34, 22 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kelly hi! 04:34, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group

[edit]

Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 01:29, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

re Barnstar

[edit]

So I was glancing through my userpage and I saw a barnstar you left for me many moons ago.

"I, Redwolf24 hereby award you this barnstar for several reasons: You have over 8000 edits, you're funny, any wikipedian who's been around for more than a week should recognize you, I haven't seen you being uncivil, and you are all around a great user."

Is that true? Would any wikipedian recognize me? :P I always thought I flew a bit under the radar, my two runs for office notwithstanding. Anyway, I probably thanked you before, but belated thanks again. --Golbez (talk) 22:16, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

[edit]

Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts.

Hello. You previously voted in the 2006 AfD for Suri Cruise. At the time, Suri was less than 10 days old, and the ultimate verdict was to turn the article into a redirect to her mother's page.

If it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate your making your opinion known at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Suri Cruise (2nd nomination) Warren Dew (talk) 07:38, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
