Story
Plot
The player, Kevin or Angela, moves to Waffle Island which was once enchanted, home to the deceased Mother Tree that was once sacred. After the Harvest Goddess vanished, the island lost its connection with nature and its inhabitants do not know what to do. By growing various crops and herbs, tending to and befriending animals, forming friendships, and raising a family, the player volunteers to save the island by bringing its tree back to life. They also meet five Harvest Sprites who help the player on their mission. Eventually, they learn that to revive the tree, they need to seek out a seedling that will grow into a new tree in order for the Harvest Goddess to return. Once that's done, the main story ends.
At the beginning of the game, the player chooses to be either a boy or girl resident on an island that houses a goddess and a tree. The tree suddenly dries up, and the goddess disappears. The player must restore the magic of the island and bring back the goddess and her tree.

Reception
The player starts out the first few days of the game living in the local inn before he or she is given his or her own farm. During this period, the player is given time to learn the controls through part-time jobs, and introduce themself to the villagers. A few days later the mayor issues the player a plot of land.

*
During E3 2006, new Wii games published by Marvelous Interactive were being announced. Two of these games were Harvest Moon and Heroes, a game in development by Grasshopper Manufacture (the game is now known as No More Heroes). The line-break between the two games' titles was missing on several E3 reports, resulting in their name being combined into Harvest Moon Heroes. Yet the final name is "Tree of Tranquility".

Livestock and poultry
A video released on IGN on 3 November 2006 shows that Harvest Moon: Tree of Peace will include cows, sheep, goats, chickens, a dog, and a white cat.

Further confirmation reveals that the livestock/poultry are your typical Harvest Moon animals (i.e. dog, horse, sheep, cow, chickens, ducks) along with ostriches, goats, and silkworms. There are also wild animals available for adoption: monkeys, bears, medium sized wild dogs, ermines, pandas, penguins, and turtles.

In order to acquire wild animals, the player must attain a certain number of hearts. This can be done by visiting the animal frequently and giving the animal it's favourite treats.
Like in past harvest moon games, the animals can die of old age. However, this will not affect the heart levels of the rest of the townspeople unless the animal dies of neglect.
Horses can be trained and bred. The better it does in shows, the more it's resale value is.

There are festivals and other contests the players animal can take part in, in order to increase its worth.

Features
*Play as a boy or a girl.
*Change clothes. Most of the characters have a set of clothes for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter. The player can also buy clothes at the tailor shop after it opens (after the first rainbow).
*Redecorate the home with things such as chairs, couches, a TV and a telephone.
*Use the Wii Remote to till soil, water the crops, cut down trees, destroy rocks, and other things.
*Cast the fishing rod by swinging the Wii Remote up and down and pressing A when the fish bites.
*Multi-player minigames (up to 4 players) including horse race, insect catching, frog jumping, and stone skipping games.

*Have either a girl or boy child.
*Ten Children available, 5 boys and 5 girls, unique to which spouse the player marries.

In the game farming is essential. Plants must be watered every day to get a good crop otherwise the plants will die.In the game you can get a hoe, axe, and water can. Also some people in the game don't start farming right away you should start farming right away it helps you and if you don't farm you will have problems finishing the game.

Children
There are ten children in total, five daughters and five sons, each looks and personality unique to which spouse you marry (although they always end up with the player characters' brown hair and eyes). Your rivals can have children as well if they get married.

*Carefree Kids
The "Carefree Kids" you can get if you marry either Tao, Juli, Mai or Leena. They are carefree and friendly. The Carefree daughter has curly twists at the end of her hair, sleepy eyes and a pink dress. The Carefree son has messy hair, sleepy eyes, freckles and yellow clothes.

*Curious Kids

*Reserved Kids
The "Reserved Kids" you can get if you marry either Chihaya, Calvin, Roomi or Sheila. They do not show their true feelings, pretend to dislike everything and sometimes have a generally rude attitude (as in snotty). The Reserved daughter has hair that spikes at the end, always looks the slightest bit angry and wears a purple dress. The Reserved son has two wisps of hair in front of his face, always looks the slightest bit angry and wears purple clothing.

*Hyper Kids
The "Hyper Kids" you can get if you marry either Luke or Cathy. They are hyper and hot blooded. The Hyper daughter has short hair, has a interesting look and wears an pink blouse with a blue jumper. The Hyper son has his hair sticking up in the front, has a interesting look too and also wears pink clothing. They also love running so if you get a hyper kid run with it and also remember to buy it lots of games they always have energy and you build a better relationship if you play with them more.

*Serious Kids
The "Serious Kids" you can get if you marry either Won, Gil, Kotomi or Anise. They are serious and polite. The Serious daughter has her hair in two small ponytails and wears glasses along with a green dress. The Serious son has his hair shaped neatly to one side and wears glasses along with green clothing.

*Rival Kids
There are only 5 rival kids within this game, whom grow up to the same stage as your child.

*Baan: Baan is Won's and Anise's son. He wants to grow up to be like his father.

*Heath: Heath is Calvin's and Pat's son. He's curious, interested in everything. He also seems quit watchful. Look out for him.

*Mao: Mao is Tao's and Leena's son. He's carefree and likes fishing.

*Angie: Angie is Juli's and Kotomi's daughter. She has more self-confidence than her mother and is interested in mining, making jewellery and sewing.

*Yui: Yui is Chihaya's and Mai's daughter. She likes to eat (and is good at cooking, but doesn't like it) and has plenty of ideas of what she wants to be when she grows up.

Restart as your child
After your child has reached their final stage, there is a certain event you can do called the "Rucksack Event." It involves you receiving a rucksack called the "Journey Rucksack". If you want, you can give it to your child, and a cutscene or two will occur. Your game will restart you as your "child". If your child was a boy, you'd restart on the island as the main boy character. If your child was a girl, it's the same thing, but with the girl character. You'll have all your money and animals as before.

Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility (牧場物語 やすらぎの樹, Bokujō Monogatari: Yasuragi no Ki, Harvest Moon: Tree of Peace) is a farming simulation video game released in Japan on June 7, 2007, by Marvelous Interactive,[1] in North America on September 30, 2008, by Natsume Inc., and in the PAL regions in October 2009. It was released for Nintendo Wii console and was the first title in the Story of Seasons series originally developed for the Wii. Plot

[edit]

Reception

[edit]

The game received "mixed" reviews according to the review aggregation website Metacritic.[2] In Japan, Famitsu gave it a score of 30 out of 40.[4]
