Hi! An image of a street sign has an educational usage as it shows people that Uptown Houston has special street signs in its district. However I don't mind a deletion on ENWiki because I have now moved the file to the Wikimedia Commons |

Hi, thanks for your message about the license on :Image:Mammillaria.jpg. I was still fairly new when I uploaded it back in 2005 and chose the wrong tag, but it seems to have slipped through the net of image tags which I keep up to date from time to time. If you spot any more of mine that seem to be wrong please let me know. |
|||
:WhisperToMe - as the image was orphaned, it was not meeting such an educational use (assuming, without deciding if, it has one). As it is now at Commons, it becomes their issue to determine if it has such as value. Jordan 1972 (talk) 15:17, 14 April 2020 (UTC) |

:: They almost certainly will. There's a lot of latitude given to whether an image has educational value, and I would suggest perusing the Commons to see which images are kept and which aren't. Texas management districts (special districts created by the Texas Legislature) do their own branding for their own areas and the street signs are part of that branding. Good day Jordan 1972! :-) Although I'm not the actual author of the pic in question - :File:N4.road.boyle.bypass.JPG - may I request you yo remove the PROD on the file? I examined the uploader's contributions, and found and took note that T was once used at the article Boyle, County Roscommon, on this edition: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Boyle,_County_Roscommon&oldid=310823525 . And it can be transferred to Commons and placed at :Commons:Category:M4 motorway (Republic of Ireland) - in which the article N4 road (Ireland) is linked to. <span style="color:#4169e1; font-family:Footlight MT">JWilz12345</span> <span style="background-color:#FFA500; font-family:Palatino">(Talk|Contrib's.)</span> 09:00, 21 April 2020 (UTC) |

Regarding the recent revert you made to :Coronation Street: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. Just to clarify with you, the edit I made back in June 2021 on List of Coronation Street characters (2011) was to update Craig Tinker’s residence (in the show), I don’t know why but for some reason, when I did it, it turned the episode numbers for other characters into phone numbers, I don’t know why this happened, but it wasn’t my fault. Understandably, you then fixed this, but you also reverted my update to Craig tinker, and said that I was making ‘unhelpful edits’. No, the edits were helpful, the residence I added for Craig was correct (and still is), because I have actually been watching the programme so know what’s going on. Thankfully, someone else sorted the issue, but I just want to let you know that before you call someone unhelpful, assume good faith. As much as I am for keeping user pages of even the most mildly active users, no matter how self-promotional, the key fact that appears to have been missed is that this editor has precisely one (1) edit to his credit, that edit was to create the self-promotional user page, and it was created on 31 October 2007. So that nomination came exactly one year and ten minutes after it was created. I'm not clear on the review process for MfD but it might be worth revisiting this decision. - Dravecky (talk) 14:31, 2 November 2008 (UTC) |

==Removal of Prod on Kurt Klang, listed at AfD instead== |
|||
Hi there. I just wanted to let you know that while doing proposed deletion patrol, I came across an article that you had proposed for deletion, Kurt Klang. Looking at the history, proposed deletion was already done, back in April of 06 but was contested on April 14th and 16th. It was easy to miss, the only reason I noticed this was when the prodder complained about the prod being removed in a later edit summary around that time. Due to deletion rules, previously contested proposed deletions can't go to proposed deletion again, so I removed your proposed deletion and sent it to Articles for deletion instead. The deletion discussion can be found here. Raven1977 (talk) 00:12, 11 November 2008 (UTC) |

Thanks for uploading :Image:Canada_Memorial_-_war_memorial_in_Green_Park,_London_-_Pierre_Granche.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. Before nominating things with "insufficient info...", check the uploader's contribution history. :Image:Sint-Truiden.jpgIt seems to be one I uploaded before I'd named it, back before I'd really figured out how things work with wiki-images. I appear to have replicated it with this one, so deleting the one identified by nothing more helpful than a number for a name would make sense. Whilst I do not have a problem with the image's deletion, I do have a problem with your poorly substantiated assumption that it was "lifted from a website" as that assumption is not true. |
|||
Don't assume - it is a bad habit. |

Hi Jason, |

I would like this image moved over to Wikipedia Commons rather than deleted. It is orphaned right now but could be linked to other articles in the future. It could also be grouped with other types of energy generation plants types from coal to wind farms. I understand it is not the highest quality of pictures. But it is a start. PROD
[edit]Hey, are you aware that you can PROD files for deletion? Might be a better avenue then FFD, especially some of the junk file that were nominated on 1 February. Salavat (talk) 03:26, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
- Please note that the proposed deletion process states that "You should notify the article's creator or other significant contributors by adding the tag or other appropriate text to contributor talk pages." Andrew🐉(talk) 13:24, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
UptownHoustonStreetSign.JPG
[edit]Hi! An image of a street sign has an educational usage as it shows people that Uptown Houston has special street signs in its district. However I don't mind a deletion on ENWiki because I have now moved the file to the Wikimedia Commons WhisperToMe (talk) 14:46, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- @WhisperToMe: - as the image was orphaned, it was not meeting such an educational use (assuming, without deciding if, it has one). As it is now at Commons, it becomes their issue to determine if it has such as value. Jordan 1972 (talk) 15:17, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- They almost certainly will. There's a lot of latitude given to whether an image has educational value, and I would suggest perusing the Commons to see which images are kept and which aren't. Texas management districts (special districts created by the Texas Legislature) do their own branding for their own areas and the street signs are part of that branding. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:17, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
PROD about File:N4.road.boyle.bypass.JPG
[edit]Good day Jordan 1972! :-) Although I'm not the actual author of the pic in question - File:N4.road.boyle.bypass.JPG - may I request you yo remove the PROD on the file? I examined the uploader's contributions, and found and took note that T was once used at the article Boyle, County Roscommon, on this edition: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Boyle,_County_Roscommon&oldid=310823525 . And it can be transferred to Commons and placed at Commons:Category:M4 motorway (Republic of Ireland) - in which the article N4 road (Ireland) is linked to. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 09:00, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
- @JWilz12345: I have removed the Prod tag based on your comments above (anyone can remove a Prod not just the uploader). I have now sent it to FfD at this https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Files_for_discussion/2020_April_21&curid=63717607&diff=952302722&oldid=952272225] link if you would like to comment. I tried to convey your comments made on my talk page into the nomination. Jordan 1972 (talk) 15:25, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Coronation Street: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. – DarkGlow • 16:17, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
List of Coronation Street characters (2011)
[edit]Just to clarify with you, the edit I made back in June 2021 on List of Coronation Street characters (2011) was to update Craig Tinker’s residence (in the show), I don’t know why but for some reason, when I did it, it turned the episode numbers for other characters into phone numbers, I don’t know why this happened, but it wasn’t my fault. Blanchey (talk) 13:26, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

[edit]ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add NoACEMM
