'''Ecclesiae Unitatem''' (Unity of the Church) is a ''[[motu proprio]]'' issued by the [[Holy See]] on [[8 July]] [[2009]]. It attachs the [[Pontifical Commission ''Ecclesia Dei'']] to the [[Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith]], with the prefect of the CDF, now ex offico president of Ecclessia Dei. [[William Cardinal Levada]] will now lead the dialouge with groups dealing with the [[Latin Mass|Missal of Bl. John XXIII]]. Cardinal Levada's role will princapally focus on bringing the [[Society of Saint Pius X]] back into communion with Rome, through disscussions which are expected to begin with SSPX in September 2009.

The moto proprio states that: ''The President of the Commission is the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.''. It also notes that ''The Commission has its own structure, including a Secretary and Officials.'' part 6c states that ''It belongs to the President, aided by the Secretary, to present the main events and questions of a doctrinal nature to the study and discretion of the ordinary instances of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, as well as to submit the conclusions to the superior judgment of the [[Supreme Pontiff]].''
