The Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST) was established in 2009 by a charitable trust namely ERD FOUNDATION. It is one of the technical colleges in the northeastern region with state of art infrastructure augmented with quality faculty. The college as well as all the courses are recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.) and affiliated to The North East Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya. Regional Institute of Science & Technology was set up with an intention of providing an efficient system of education and to cater to the needs of technical manpower in the North-Eastern region of the country. The college now offers four year under graduate courses in four disciplines, viz. Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Each department of the college has the well equipped laboratory. The state of art Workshop of the college provides exhaustive hands-on-training to the students.

The Regional Institute of Science & Technology (RIST) was established in 2009 by the Erd Foundation (a charitable trust). It is a technical college in the north eastern region of India. The college and courses are recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to The North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya.[1] The Regional Institute of Science & Technology was created to meet the need for technical personnel in northeast India.

The college offers bachelor's degrees in six engineering fields: computer science, electronics and communication, information technology, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering.

Location

The institute is located on the hills of 9th Mile, opposite the CRPF group centre, Khanapara, Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya. It is 6 km (4 mi) from Dispur, the capital of Assam and 85 km (53 mi) from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.
