Broken out from section about hunter-killer armor *teams*; button-override sounds plausible but not inherant to the function, and unlikely to be universal -- but a source could change our minds on that.
the "sight" page at no point references hunter-killer operations, and the "hunter-killer" part of "hunter-killer sight" is probably more important than the "sight" part.

#REDIRECT Hunter-killer team
A hunter-killer sight in an armoured vehicle refers to a vehicle commander's sight, independent of the gunner's sight that aligns on the main armament. That independence permits the crew commander to scan a horizontal arc separate from that viewed by the gunner, perhaps in the form of continuing the scanning that the gunner had shared in until stopping to engage a target. In some implementations, a button-press by the commander can override the gunner's independence, making the gunner's sight and the main armament slew to match the commander's point of aim.
