1986
I'm taking the liberty of removing "1986 – Birth of Tom Skwierawski of the Alief Independent School District, formerly President of the College of Charleston." Not only does that not belong in the "Events" section, it is incredibly unlikely that a 24-year-old could possibly be a former college president. Furthermore, I doubt that it fits under the Notoriety qualifications for an important event, like the Battle of Bosworth Field. == Conquest of Ceuta ==

I suggest adding the Conquest of Ceuta, as it marks the beginning of the Portuguese (and European...) overseas expansion and is undoubtedly an event of major importance in the shaping of the world as it is today. Also, it is the 600th anniversary of the event. 41.63.165.48 (talk) 14:35, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

"1941 – World War II: German troops begin the Siege of Leningrad."

but in the article about that the siegue started september 8, no august 21

quote:

"The siege began on 8 September 1941, when the Wehrmacht severed the last road to the city. Although Soviet forces managed to open a narrow land corridor to the city on 18 January 1943, the Red Army did not lift the siege until 27 January 1944, 872 days after it began." Vanity of Mr. Sergio Bessa, of Enabler company

[edit]

I removed this guy two times because his edits are Non-Enciclopedic Vanity (NEV). Maybe one day, and just maybe, he and anybody else, would deserve a place in wikipedia, but not now. Be aware of this vandal please, there are thousands of people born in Portugal during the 1970s and 1980s who would deserve be in wikipedia exactly like this guy (if not more), and they are not there because they know how childish is this kind of vanity.

(*1979 - Sergio Bessa, Portuguese Computer Scientist)

I think we can safely say that no one has ever been right about the end of the world so far. I've seen that posted on August 22 several times in the last few weeks...at this point it remains speculation/nonsense. Fabricationary 23:17, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

'2006 - My Chemical Romance performed at Hammersmith Palais, London' - Is this really notable enough to put on this page?

Two inappropriate 2006 events

[edit]

1. The definition of planet was not finally changed on august 22, but a day or two ago. 2. I don't know who My Chemical Romance is supposed to be, but I think someone is just advertising.
