I'm in the process of developing a new signature. I'd like to reserve my actual user name for a link to my user page, and I'd like to have a link to [[User talk:TantalumTelluride|my talk page]] and [[Wikipedia:Esperanza|Esperanza]] in some sort of clever little flourish after my user name. It might or might not allude to properties of the chemical compound tantalum telluride. I want my signature to be easily recognizable, but I don't want it to overpower everyone else's. The code should also be reasonably short (not so long that it clutters up source pages and makes diffs unreadable). Of course, it should be within the guidelines at [[Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages]]. If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to add them below. You might find some inspiration at [http://www.webelements.com/webelements/compounds/text/Ta/Ta1Te2-12067662.html webelements.com].

Here's my current signature, which I've been using since I joined Esperanza:

:--[[User:TantalumTelluride|Tantalum]][[User talk:TantalumTelluride|T]][[Wikipedia:Esperanza|<span style="color:#008000;">e</span>]][[User talk:TantalumTelluride|lluride]]

And here's the beginning of a possible new signature. Orange and blue represent [[Auburn University]], and the green ''e'' is for Esperanza. "TaTe2 is the chemical formula of tantalum telluride. I'm not sure what to do with the rest of the characters or exactly where to put the link to my talk page:

:--[[User:TantalumTelluride|<span style="color:#CD6600;">Tantalum</span><span style="color:#000080;">Telluride</span>]] (TaT[[Wikipedia:Esperanza|<span style="color:#008000;">e</span>]]2)

Plain old parentheses are pretty boring, so square brackets or vertical bars might add some interest And perhaps the ''Ta'' could house the link to my talk page. Yuck, the code is getting ugly:

:--[[User:TantalumTelluride|<span style="color:#CD6600;">Tantalum</span><span style="color:#000080;">Telluride</span>]] <nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User talk:TantalumTelluride|Ta]]T[[Wikipedia:Esperanza|<span style="color:#008000;">e</span>]]2]

Here's another:

:--[[User:TantalumTelluride|<span style="color:#CD6600;">Tantalum</span><span style="color:#000080;">Telluride</span>]] |[[User talk:TantalumTelluride|Ta]][[Wikipedia:Esperanza|<span style="color:#008000;">Te</span>]][[Special:Emailuser/TantalumTelluride|2]]|

All comments and suggestions are welcome.
