Zambesi Mission is an evangelical, non-denominational agency active in Malawai and northern Mozambique. It was founded by Joseph Booth, an Englishman farming in Australia in 1892 as the Zambesi Industrial Mission. The original aid apart from evangelical purpose was to help Africans to advance in trades and skills. In the early days the mission was involved in activities such as coffee growing, cattle reading, skin curing and printing. Over the years the industrial aspect has become less significant and the mission assumed its present name.<ref>http://www.zambesimission.org/index.html</ref> |
