Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale! |
|||
Yeah I'm sorry about that, I was in a hurry and forgot. Thanks for the reminder about Mesa State College. JLAmidei 14:49, 12 May 2011 |

Hi, I'm not an experienced contributor and don't know how to edit pages directly. On the list of prolific inventors, I know of two who have over 200 US patents that might be added to the list. They are both in the US, Dale Malik and Irwin Gerzberg. You can of course look them up on USPTO.gov and see this is verifiable. I hope to make it to the list soon myself. I am currently at 173 and expect to hit 200 in March, 2019. Best wishes and thank you for this wonderful page. |

Much has happened since the last newsletter over two months ago. The open letter finished with 444 signatures. The letter was sent to several dozen people at the WMF, and we have heard that it is being discussed but there has been no official reply. A related article appears in the current issue of The Signpost. If you haven't seen it, you should, including the readers' comment section. |
|||
Awards: Barnstars were given for the past several years (thanks to MPGuy2824), and we are now all caught up. The 2021 cup went to John B123 for leading with 26,525 article reviews during 2021. To encourage moderate activity, a new "Iron" level barnstar is awarded annually for reviewing 360 articles ("one-a-day"), and 100 reviews earns the "Standard" NPP barnstar. About 90 reviewers received barnstars for each of the years 2018 to 2021 (including the new awards that were given retroactively). All awards issued for every year are listed on the Awards page. Check out the new Hall of Fame also. |
|||
hi, |
|||
Software news: Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have connected with WMF developers who can review and approve patches, so they have been able to fix some bugs, and make other improvements to the Page Curation software. You can see everything that has been fixed recently here. The reviewer report has also been improved. |
|||
|
|||
Suggestions: |
|||
*There is much enthusiasm over the low backlog, but remember that the "quality and depth of patrolling are more important than speed". |
|||
*Reminder: an article should not be tagged for any kind of deletion for a minimum of 15 minutes after creation and it is often appropriate to wait an hour or more. (from the NPP tutorial) |
|||
*Reviewers should focus their effort where it can do the most good, reviewing articles. Other clean-up tasks that don't require advanced permissions can be left to other editors that routinely improve articles in these ways (creating Talk Pages, specifying projects and ratings, adding categories, etc.) Let's rely on others when it makes the most sense. On the other hand, if you enjoy doing these tasks while reviewing and it keeps you engaged with NPP (or are guiding a newcomer), then by all means continue. |
|||
*This user script puts a link to the feed in your top toolbar. |
|||
Backlog: Saving the best for last: From a July low of 8,500, the backlog climbed back to 11,000 in August and then reversed in September dropping to below 6,000 and continued falling with the October backlog drive to under 1,000, a level not seen in over four years. Keep in mind that there are 2,000 new articles every week, so the number of reviews is far higher than the backlog reduction. To keep the backlog under a thousand, we have to keep reviewing at about half the recent rate! |
|||
i have no idea who or what you are. This is the last moment I will put any time in a group project. I am not a bureaucrat and the way wikipedia works is too bureaucratic and at the same time too much random. |

Everything I have added here has been deleted and changed by you. You have no idea what band we have, nor have you ever seen one of our shows. Without any knowledge of what band we are, you put us in a BRITISH TV SHOW portal. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Freewheelers) |

;Backlog |
|||
The October drive reduced the backlog from 9,700 to an amazing 0! Congratulations to WaddlesJP13 who led with 2084 points. See this page for further details. The queue is steadily rising again and is approaching 2,000. It would be great if <2,000 were the “new normal”. Please continue to help out even if it's only for a few or even one patrol a day. |
|||
;2022 Awards |
|||
|
|||
Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. For the full details see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone! |
|||
Minimum deletion time: The previous WP:NPP guideline was to wait 15 minutes before tagging for deletion (including draftification and WP:BLAR). Due to complaints, a consensus decided to raise the time to 1 hour. To illustrate this, very new pages in the feed are now highlighted in red. (As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.) |
|||
Now it leads to some Chris Carmichael, who doesn't even play cello as his first instrument. Ilene McHolland does, and she did so first chair in the orchestra of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, jr. She played cello in Plain James and opened with that band for Journey, Foreigner, Kansas and Rush. But maybe you don't know those names either.... |
|||
New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Please edit your edit your common.js or vector.js file from <code>User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js</code> to <code>User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js</code> |
|||
We have toured intensively in Spain, and extensively in the Netherlands and California. We have never met the other Freewheeler band or heard anything from them, although we have tried to contact them. They are obviously busy with their new projects. |
|||
Redirects: Some of our redirect reviewers have reduced their activity and the backlog is up to 9,000+ (two months deep). If you are interested in this distinctly different task and need any help, see this guide, this checklist, and spend some time at WP:RFD. |
|||
So tell me, why are you trying to ruin my band and efforts? |
|||
Discussions with the WMF The PageTriage open letter signed by 444 users is bearing fruit. The Growth Team has assigned some software engineers to work on PageTriage, the software that powers the NewPagesFeed and the Page Curation toolbar. WMF has submitted dozens of patches in the last few weeks to modernize PageTriage's code, which will make it easier to write patches in the future. This work is helpful but is not very visible to the end user. For patches visible to the end user, volunteers such as Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have been writing patches for bug reports and feature requests. The Growth Team also had a video conference with the NPP coordinators to discuss revamping the landing pages that new users see. |

:Now just hold on a minute. You have absolutely no reason to come to my talk page and make demands like this. Yes we have an article Freewheelers which is about a TV show hence it has been added to the relevant project about British TV shows. Apparently there is also a band called The Freewheelers. Fine, so there might be. But in order for there to be a Wikipedia article about the band, it has to meet the notability requirements set out at WP:BAND. If it meets those requirements, the article would be called Freewheelers (band), you do not edit the TV show article to add stuff about the band. As you are connected with the band you have a conflict of interest, so should not create the article yourself, but you can ask for it to be created by following the process set out at WP:Requested articles. And next time, please assume good faith, and be a little less aggressive. – ukexpat (talk) 13:32, 21 June 2011 (UTC) |

Backlog |
|||
Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day. |
|||
== Thank you! == |
|||
Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here. |
|||
Thank you for the move and the welcome, much appreciated. Kimabeaux (talk) 20:38, 21 June 2011 (UTC) |
|||
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of , and also some patches from , has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers. |
|||
== Supernova Entertainment == |
|||
Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script. |
|||
Hey there, |
|||
You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest. |
|||
Somewhat new to the Wikipedia game, although I do critical analysis and nonfiction research writing on the reg. Supernova (company) does not have a page but should be linked to several other Wikipedia entries (Battle of the Bands, Corus Entertainment, etc). |
|||
Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums). |
|||
I have added the page but it has been deleted stating it is too much like advertising. However, all the elements of the page are factual and are not soliciting any kind of business. I had parked the article in my sandbox, and made a request to move; which has now been deleted. I would like to know if you have any recommendations specifically for this article? |

:Intent isn't the key here, it's tone -- even if all the elements of the page are factual and are not soliciting any kind of business, the tone of the article was promotional, hence the deletion. I suggest that you look at articles about other companies, such as Microsoft, Dow, BASF, and DuPont to see how they are written and structured. The important thing is to stick to only those things that can be verified by references to reliable sources, leaving out any editorialising, PR-speak, marketing fluff etc. Find and cite reliable sources that demonstrate that the company is notable per these guidelines. You were so helpful with your above comments, but it seems as soon as I put the page up it was again nominated for speedy deletion. This is frustrating as it doesn't appear that the article was read or reviewed, just immediately slotted for deletion. Can you review the page for Supernova (company) and provide any assistance? Hi Ukexpat, |
|||
Yes, I work for the company, but I was trying very hard NOT to be promotional and only state the facts. We've had a number of people specifically ask us to update the page with our historical information. We have a long, interesting history as a firm. I, in fact, added a LOT of historical reference that weren't in the last version of the article. The notes from the last version indicated that things weren't documented properly -- and I documented everything I could. Is it the links to our case histories that you don't like? I will take them all out, I thought I was being useful to a reader, not promotional. I have a PhD from the University of Chicago and I used to work for the University of Chicago Press. I am trying to be academic about this, not promotional. Please restore the version I put up, I will amend it any way you see fit, but I added TONS of historical information!! |
|||
Thank you |

:Sorry, but I am not going to restore it. This is precisely why we request users with a COI not to edit relevant articles, because when you have a COI it is almost impossible to write objectively, no matter how hard you try. Please do as suggested in WP:COI and use the article's talk page to discuss the changes you think should be made. – ukexpat (talk) 19:45, 24 June 2011 (UTC) |

Hi Ukexpat, |
|||
I just read COI, sorry I missed that before, I read a lot of information before diving in but missed that one. Here is what I will do: 1) Make a note on the user page saying I work for the company, and link to my online bio (I was not intentionally trying to make a secret of this); (2) Make a note on the Talk page about my work for the company, (3) Remove all links to Landor.com that aren't written by third parties. Almost all the information in the article is verified by non-Landor-employee Bernie Gallagher, who wrote his thesis about Walter Landor and Landor Associates on his own. Would you please restore it so I can make those changes? |

== Regarding a conflict of interest: == |
|||
Thank you for the expediency of the replies. I was unaware of the rarity in which protections are granted. I disagree however, in regards to the matter of a conflict of interest. We do not seek to promote the Monument in a commercial fashion, only publish up to date information as often as can be done, without the risk of false edits. Although I was not personally a witness, there have been reports of misinformation in the past. While I understand this to be a minority, perhaps a system could be arranged with limited protections-- and our concerns may be allayed. Thank you. --Cqcosner (talk) 22:57, 24 June 2011 (UTC) |

Hey there. With all due respect, can you please provide a link to the guideline that confirms the basis for your changes to the headings on the above referenced article? I appreciate your assistance in this matter? Best regards, <b><font color="navy" face="Tahoma">Cind.</font><font color="purple" face="Tahoma">amuse</font></b> 16:44, 27 June 2011 (UTC) |
|||
:I don't think there are any formal guidelines, but nearly all of the biographical articles I have seen on Wikipedia (and trust me, that's a lot) follow this format. Consistency is good. In fact, I would go even further (as I did in an earlier edit) and remove the "Career" heading completely and promote its subheadings. – ukexpat (talk) 16:54, 27 June 2011 (UTC) |

:: Thanks for responding. Honestly, when decisions are made to revert edits by others, based on subjective opinion, the action generally results in edit wars. Not good. While I respect your opinions, I would highly recommend that you refrain from reverting the work of others when the changes are based merely on your opinion or what you have seen in the past. I am familiar with your editing background and truly believe that you have come across several articles which conform to your ideal. Your work is to be commended. That said, I have come across several articles as well, and work closely with the biography Wikiproject. There are no guidelines that support your revision. However, there are guidelines that provide for caution in changing and reverting section headings. While consistency is good, there are millions of articles and thousands of editors working on these articles. The opinions of many editors may differ from your own. The goal within the project, in this regard needs to focus on collaboration. If you were to review many of the biography articles which have been assessed at GA and FA standards, you would be hard pressed to find a majority of articles that support your preference. In the future, I might suggest making a suggestion on the talk page of the article for which you wish to make changes. I work with a lot of new editors. Changes such as yours are really muddying the waters and hurting the credibility of the project. I'm personally grateful that your actions were not made to the edits of a new editor. I can take it. New editors haven't yet developed the thick skin and generally just tend to walk away disillusioned. Best regards, <b><font color="navy" face="Tahoma">Cind.</font><font color="purple" face="Tahoma">amuse</font></b> 17:45, 27 June 2011 (UTC) |

:::Seriously??? Has this resulted in an edit war? No. Are section headings a big deal? No. Do we have a principle on Wikipedia called "Be Bold"? Yes, we do, right there next to "Bold, Revert, Discuss". Has Ukexpat breached these principles? Not that I can see. Does Ukexpat have to go around seeking consensus before changing section headings? No. Is Ukexpat "muddying the waters and hurting the credibility of the project"? Not by any stretch of the imagination. Does Ukexpat have a clue what he's doing? Yes, otherwise I and others wouldn't be intermittently pestering him to accept a nomination for adminship. Does Ukexpat have experience of working with new editors? Yes, he is one of the most consistently present and helpful editors at the Help Desk, where lots of new users post questions about their new articles, etc. Would his minor changes have driven away a new editor? I would be amazed. Is Cindamuse making a mountain out of a molehill? Yes. Bencherlite<i>Talk</i> 00:02, 28 June 2011 (UTC) |

::::You're entitled to your opinion. Ukexpat has a history of reverting edits based on subjective opinion and stating that the edits of others are in error and unnecessary (when guidelines do not support his personal opinion). Sure, there was no edit war. However, as I stated above, actions such as those employed by Ukexpat often result in edit wars with newer editors. This shouldn't happen. Does Ukexpat have to go around seeking consensus before changing section headings? No, not when they are not in compliance with stated MOS guidelines. However, when they are made based on subjective, personal opinion, changes without discussing it with the editor are ill advised. Comments made to new editors include referring to their work as "spammy", "gushing", and a "spamfest". Overall, Ukexpat is to be commended for his work. I might be inclined to support him if he were to throw his hat in the RFA ring. That said, I would hope that he would learn to temper his communication with new editors and work with them. For what it's worth, I have been in communication just today with a first time editor that was driven away through Ukexpat's words and actions. She was quite disillusioned. I have provided encouragement, along with links to various policies and guidelines. Including a link to the MOS, of which she never knew existed. Its much easier to learn to work with other editors, providing proper guidance, than it is to abruptly tell them to take it to the talk page. It reminds me of being in... oh let's say hardware store. I'm looking for a crescent wrench and find a customer service clerk and ask for assistance. But the most I get is a vague wave and a statement to look for it over in the corner of the store. Yeah, right. Thanks for the help. How is Wikipedia any different? Is it any wonder why Wikipedia has fewer than 10 percent female editors working on the project? The aggressive nature and turbulent culture found on Wikipedia has overall, been a turn-off to women. I think its time for all of us to check ourselves. Too many editors are being turned away. Retention is extremely low. Is this a mountain out of a molehill? Not according to the Wikimedia Foundation. Respectfully, <b><font color="navy" face="Tahoma">Cind.</font><font color="purple" face="Tahoma">amuse</font></b> 06:04, 28 June 2011 (UTC) |

hi, on the page that you suggested where I can ask someone to make a page for my band (have to do that to avoid conflict of interest, apparently) I didn't find any info on that. |
|||
So, I am going to ask you, as you are the person that has edited (and replaced) my Freewheeler band article. |
|||
We are member of the Sacramento Blues Society (www.sacblues.com) for 2.5 years. Before that, we have played at various stages in the Netherlands (Burgpop, Lutjebroek, Westwoud, Nijmegen) and had some reviews in local newspapers. In Spain we were main guest at InformacionTV of Alicante, and we were featured in the San Vicente local radioshow. Besides that, we have played a number of cannabis legalisation festivals, like the Alacannabis Cup festival. Also, there have been articles in the Alicante newspaper 'Diario Informacion'. We have produced three official cd's. |

==Gutierrez' biography == |
|||
Hello, |
|||
I am sorry if I have caused any problems. I thought we all wanted to have the best page possible reflecting the person's woek and accomplishments. I am new to WIKI and thought one could add and reword to make the biography flow and read better. I read similar biographical articles on WIKI that used similar phrasing with documentation. You may check the documentation, or, if you need additional documentation, pleasse let me know. Perhaps we can work on a biographical version that reflects Mr. Gutierrez' legacy. The current version is not reflective of his life and accomplishments. I tried to narrate as best as I could, documenting my statements. There are quotes for his back problems, but my verifiable quotes and information regarding his accomplishments is being rejected. I do not understand fully, but would like to learn to do it correctly. |

::Hello, I did not intend to offend anyone with Gutierrez' biography edits. I am new to Wiki. I am willing to work as a team to make the biography the best it can be. I mirrowed many biographies written on WIKI and documented the statements to be more objective. Perhaps we can rewrite some of the edits I made as a team and work towards a common goal. My goal was to document his life, work, and accomplishments. The current website does not reflect his work, his discography, and many of the documented awards he received. Hello,
I assume the draft Draft:road safety in Europe risk to be deleted because it is still a draft.
So, Might be you can approve it?
Peer review newsletter #1
[edit]Introduction
[edit]Hello to all! I do not intend to write a regular peer review newsletter but there does occasionally come a time when those interested in contributing to peer review should be contacted, and now is one. I've mailed this out to everyone on the peer review volunteers list, and some editors that have contributed to past discussions. Apologies if I've left you off or contacted you and you didn't want it. Next time there is a newsletter / mass message it will be opt in (here), I'll talk about this below - but first:
- THANK YOU! I want to thank you for your contributions and for volunteering on the list to help out at peer review. Thank you!
- Peer review is useful! It's good to have an active peer review process. This is often the way that we help new or developing editors understand our ways, and improve the quality of their editing - so it fills an important and necessary gap between the teahouse (kindly introduction to our Wikiways) and GA and FA reviews (specific standards uphelp according to a set of quality criteria). And we should try and improve this process where possible (automate, simplify) so it can be used and maintained easily.
Updates
[edit]Update #1: the peer review volunteers list is changing
[edit]The list is here in case you've forgotten: WP:PRV. Kadane has kindly offered to create a bot that will ping editors on the volunteers list with unanswered reviews in their chosen subject areas every so often. You can choose the time interval by changing the "contact" parameter. Options are "never", "monthly", "quarterly", "halfyearly", and "annually". For example:

- if placed in the "History" section, JohnSmith will receive an automatic update every month about unanswered peer reviews relating to history.
- if placed in the "Geography" section, JaneSmith will receive an automatic update every yearly about unanswered peer reviews in the geography area.
We can at this stage only use the broad peer review section titles to guide what reviews you'd like, but that's better than nothing! You can also set an interest in multiple separate subject areas that will be updated at different times.
Update #2: a (lean) WikiProject Peer review
[edit]I don't think we need a WikiProject with a giant bureaucracy nor all sorts of whiz-bang features. However over the last few years I've found there are times when it would have been useful to have a list of editors that would like to contribute to discussions about the peer review process (e.g. instructions, layout, automation, simplification etc.). Also, it can get kind of lonely on the talk page as I am (correct me if I'm wrong) the only regular contributor, with most editors moving on after 6 - 12 months.
So, I've decided to create "WikiProject Peer review". If you'd like to contribute to the WikiProject, or make yourself available for future newsletters or contact, please add yourself to the list of members.
Update #3: advertising
[edit]We plan to do some advertising of peer review, to let editors know about it and how to volunteer to help, at a couple of different venues (Signpost, Village pump, Teahouse etc.) - but have been waiting until we get this bot + WikiProject set up so we have a way to help interested editors make more enduring contributions. So consider yourself forewarned!
And... that's it!
I wish you all well on your Wikivoyages, Tom (LT) (talk) 00:31, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
Two inventors to add to the list of prolific inventors
[edit]Hi, I'm not an experienced contributor and don't know how to edit pages directly.
New Page Patrol newsletter October 2022
[edit]Hello Ukexpat,
Much has happened since the last newsletter over two months ago. The open letter finished with 444 signatures. The letter was sent to several dozen people at the WMF, and we have heard that it is being discussed but there has been no official reply. A related article appears in the current issue of The Signpost. If you haven't seen it, you should, including the readers' comment section.
Software news: Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have connected with WMF developers who can review and approve patches, so they have been able to fix some bugs, and make other improvements to the Page Curation software. You can see everything that has been fixed recently here. The reviewer report has also been improved.
Suggestions:
- There is much enthusiasm over the low backlog, but remember that the "quality and depth of patrolling are more important than speed".
- Reminder: an article should not be tagged for any kind of deletion for a minimum of 15 minutes after creation and it is often appropriate to wait an hour or more. (from the NPP tutorial)
- Reviewers should focus their effort where it can do the most good, reviewing articles.
- This user script puts a link to the feed in your top toolbar.
Backlog:
Saving the best for last: From a July low of 8,500, the backlog climbed back to 11,000 in August and then reversed in September dropping to below 6,000 and continued falling with the October backlog drive to under 1,000, a level not seen in over four years. Keep in mind that there are 2,000 new articles every week, so the number of reviews is far higher than the backlog reduction. To keep the backlog under a thousand, we have to keep reviewing at about half the recent rate!
- Reminders
- Newsletter feedback - please take this short poll about the newsletter.
- If you're interested in instant messaging and chat rooms, please join us on the New Page Patrol Discord, where you can ask for help and live chat with other patrollers.
- Please add the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be a reviewer, please ask any admin to remove you from the group. If you want the tools back again, just ask at PERM.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
New Pages Patrol newsletter January 2023
[edit]Hello Ukexpat,
- Backlog
The October drive reduced the backlog from 9,700 to an amazing 0! Congratulations to WaddlesJP13 who led with 2084 points. See this page for further details. The queue is steadily rising again and is approaching 2,000. It would be great if <2,000 were the “new normal”. Please continue to help out even if it's only for a few or even one patrol a day.
- 2022 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. For the full details see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone!
(As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.)
New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Please edit your edit your common.js or vector.js file from User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js
to User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js
Redirects: Some of our redirect reviewers have reduced their activity and the backlog is up to 9,000+ (two months deep). If you are interested in this distinctly different task and need any help, see this guide, this checklist, and spend some time at WP:RFD.
- Reminders
- Newsletter feedback - please take this short poll about the newsletter.
- There is live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord.
- Please add the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- If you no longer wish to be a reviewer, please ask any admin to remove you from the group. If you want the tools back again, just ask at PERM.

[edit]Hello Ukexpat,
Backlog
Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.
Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage.
Reminders
- Newsletter feedback - please take this short poll about the newsletter.
- There is live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord and #wikimedia-npp connect on IRC.
- Please add the project discussion page to your watchlist.
