Greenbrier is located in a growing suburban area and is in close proximity to two of its main feeder schools, Greenbrier Elementary and Greenbrier Middle.
In 2008 an additional access road, General Wood Parkway, was constructed to provide direct access to the schools off of Washington Road.

==Coke vs. Pepsi Controversy==
In 1998, a senior named Mike Cameron was suspended for wearing a Pepsi work shirt on "Coke Day". This became a huge issue and garnered national attention with the incident being referenced in several books. "Coke Day" had been envisioned by the student government as a part of the school's entry into a national "Team Up With Coca-Cola" contest that bestows $10,000 upon the winning school.
