Perappu (ペラップ Parrap) is a recently-revealed Pokémon that is scheduled to appear in the movie Pokémon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea: Manaphy, as well as obtainable in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games on the Nintendo DS. It was released alongside Tamanta and Buizeru and will be the first solely flying-type Pokémon. Perappu is set to appear in the 9th movie, Pokémon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea: Manaphy. However, its role in the movie has yet to be revealed.

Name Origin
The Japanese name "Perappu" when translated is believed to be based on the word "Parrot" and the word "Rap", the latter likely indicating its musical appearance. This would make the possible romanization Parrap a palindrome, meaning it is written the same backwards, and as such it is literally parroting itself.

Appearence
Perappu resembles a colorful parrot, with a black head in the shape of a musical note as its most defining feature, and its black tail resembles a whistle, a recorder, a cor anglais, or a metronome in much the same fashion. Because of this, it is probable that Perappu will learn Tail Whip. Perappu has a pink beak, a white feathery collar, a pair of blue-and-yellow wings, yellow talons, and a green underside, but it will probably be categorized as blue in the Pokedex.

Other Info
Perappu will be one of the many new Pokémon that will be in the Nintendo DS games, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. As a Flying-type Pokemon, it is strong aganist Grass, Bug, and Fighting Pokémon, but weak against Electric, Ice, and Rock Pokémon. It should also be noted that it is the first pure Flying-type Pokemon. In the past, Flying has always been paired with another element (mostly Normal-type, with other exceptions). So far, the only types not paired with Flying at this time are Ghost-type and Fighting-type.
