This article is heavily overcited. Someone tried to take care of my "Excessive citations" tag by simply redistributing the citations throughout the paragraph without actually removing any. I had only tagged a few series of refs with an inline tag, but those weren't the only overcited/refbombed sections. There are still single short sentences with multiple citations. We just don't need that many. See WP:TIMELINE and Timeline. : A month ago, I completed the summarizing of 2007-2010, but there is still much more that needs to be done (2011-2024). The work reduced the overall page size from 274K to 228K (a 17% reduction); reduced the word count from 17.1K to 13.4K (a 22% reduction). The remaining word count is still over 13,000 words which is much larger than it should be, and the WP:OVERCITE on the remaining years has not been addressed either, but would be addressed by trimming those huge paragraphs to simple event notes. <span style="text-shadow:#000 0em 0em 1em"><span style="color:#6a0dad"> &nbsp;&nbsp;▶ I am Grorp ◀ </span></span> 20:44, 7 June 2024 (UTC)

Citation overkill

[edit]

This article is heavily overcited. Someone tried to take care of my "Excessive citations" tag by simply redistributing the citations throughout the paragraph without actually removing any. I had only tagged a few series of refs with an inline tag, but those weren't the only overcited/refbombed sections. There are still single short sentences with multiple citations. We just don't need that many. See WP:Citation overkill.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 04:18, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
