Plot
Victoria had an affair with her husband Samuel's friend, Antonio Lombardo, resulting in the birth of twins, Bruno and Raquel. Antonio also had a son, Alejandro, with his wife Adriana. After their respective spouses passed away, they reunited and got married, however, they did not tell their children that they are half siblings, as that would reveal their infidelities. Instead they raise the children to recognize each other as step-siblings.

Years pass, and Bruno comes to be an irresponsible man who does not respect laws. Alejandro, on the other hand, is very responsible. Antonio prefers Alejandro and has decided to inherit Alejandro the money when he passes away. So after a meeting of Bruno's behavior, Antonio dies in a car accident, causing Victoria to be widowed again. Meanwhile, Fernando, Alejandro's friend, is in love with Victoria, but his love cannot be due to age difference.

As of December 7, 2015 - April 15, 2016 TL Novelas broadcast 11:00, 17:00 and 23:00 replacing Alma de hierro, with Fuego en la sangre replacing it the April 18.
10 years later, Alejandro has come to stay with the money Antonio inherited him, causing his brother Bruno to become insanely jealous. So, Bruno plans to get rid of Alejandro by hiring Erik to help him achieve his evil plan. Meanwhile, a girl named Maria José and her sister Paula live in a Saque - humble home in Campeche, Yucatán. She has been communicating with whom she believes to be Alejandro through the phone and Internet, and they fall in love and marry. At the wedding, viewers recognize the man to actually be Bruno. The next day, he claims to have business out of town and leaves. Meanwhile, Bruno hires a truck driver to crash into Alejandro causing a terrible crash off the road. Everyone believes Alejandro to be dead. Alejandro's family discovers a marriage in his name and call Maria to break the news. Devastated, she immediately flies over to be with the Lombardo's, her sister Paula soon following to be with her. Meeting his family for the first time, she finds out that Alejandro was actually rich. Soon after meeting the family, she discovers that Bruno was the man she met, and he reveals his plans to her, promising to take care of her and share his soon to be riches. Heartbroken and horrified she leaves to go home, but Bruno chases after her to Campeche and threatens to frame her father for drug dealing. Maria goes back with him. But Alejandro, having miraculously survived the accident, soon returns home to encounter the wife of whom he knows nothing at his house. Though the doctors and his family tell Alejandro he merely has amnesia, he knows something is wrong and eventually forces the truth out of Maria José. Wanting to find a way to help her (and seeing that Bruno has feelings for her but its hard for him to show it) Alejandro keeps her by his side and keeps up the pretense of being married to everyone around them. Keeping up the act, they develop feelings for one another. Meanwhile, Bruno's sister Raquel and her friend Maura, who is in love with Alejandro, reject Maria José and Paula often and makes Maria José hesitate about living with the Lombardo's.

As of March 21, 2016, for the first time UniMás. is debuting Sortilegio at 1 pm/12c, 2 hour of special.
Maria José, fearing for the threats Bruno makes against her father, decides not live with the Lombardo's any longer and flees with Paula and her father, Pedro, back to Campeche, Yucatán. Don Pedro sees himself as a weight in his daughters life so he calls Alejandro to come rescue them from Bruno. Bruno then uses Maura's evil plan as his own and uses Mario Aguirre, making him seem inocent and leaving Maria Jose with an acomplice/lover. Alejandro tired of the lies Maria Jose has told him and wanting to have peace again throws Maria Jose and her family out of his house and files for divorce. After a short stay in Campeche, Maria José gets stabbed in the back by an intruder, causing her to be sent to the hospital. Alejandro still in love with Maria Jose flies to Campeche, to see his wife after the attack. After 2 weeks, she is cured and returned not to Campeche, but to the Lombardo's in Mérida, Yucatán because Alejandro convinces her to stay with him and he apologizes for everything. When Alejandro discovers that Maria José is pregnant, he realizes he loves her and attempts to make her happy.

Plot
Two months later, Bruno comes up with a new plan. He will kidnap Maria José to make her lose her memory and they will marry afterwords, giving Maura the opportunity to marry Alejandro. Bruno and Maura trick Maria José into looking at a house for her and Alejandro when it is really a trap for them to kidnap her. Then they, along with Maria José's mother, Elena, who was believed to be dead because of a lie Maria José's father told her and her sister Paula. They make her believe she is her twin sister, Sandra, who she knew nothing about before and who is in a coma and later dies from a drug overdose.
Victoria had an affair with her husband Samuel's friend, Antonio Lombardo, resulting in the birth of twins, Bruno and Raquel. Antonio also had a son, Alejandro, with his wife Adriana. After their respective spouses died, they reunited and got married. However, they didn't tell their children that they are half-siblings, as that would reveal their infidelities. Instead they raised their children to recognize each other as step-siblings.

Years pass, and Bruno comes to be an irresponsible man who does not respect laws. Alejandro, on the other hand, is very responsible. Antonio prefers Alejandro over Bruno and decides that Alejandro should inherit his money when he passes away. Antonio and Victoria have a meeting at Bruno's high school about Bruno's behavior and are told that he is expelled. While leaving the school, Antonio is run over and killed. Bruno upon learning that Antonio left everything to Alejandro comes up with a plan to pretend to be Alejandro and marry Maria Jose, a sweet innocent girl and then kill Alejandro. Making Maria Jose a very rich widow. When news comes of Alejandro's death Maria Jose and her sister Paula travel to Merida for the funeral. Maria Jose is heart broken to learn that Alejandro has died. However, she also learns that the man she feel in love with is named Bruno and not Alejandro. Maria Jose is furious to learn that Bruno tricked her and wants nothing to do with his evil plan. Bruno then threatens to send her father to prison if she doesn't pretend to be Alejandro's widow. Maria Jose is trapped and reluctantly accepts to deceive everyone into believing that she did get married with Alejandro. Just as Bruno thinks he has gotten away with his plan, Alejandro returns alive and shocked to learn that his family thinks that he married Maria Jose. Alejandro must then discover the truth about his supposed marriage to Maria Jose, who he is slowly falling in love with. Thus begins a story of intrigue, sibling hatred and rivalry, two sons in love with and fighting for the love of the same women, corporate espionage, and twin sisters torn apart by circumstance.
Eventually Alejandro finds her and starts making her fall in love with him again by dating her and takes her back home. It gives Alejandro a new chance to start things right and do the things they never got to do because of Bruno's evil scheme. But she does not recognize anybody, so she thinks everyone is lying to her, but little by little her memory starts coming back. Bruno eventually gets discovered after a gunshot aimed at Alejandro and is forced into hiding from the FBI. Against the backdrop of constant manipulations by Bruno and by Maura, the couple attempt to build a happy life with their child. It gets intense as Bruno now has to hide to avoid getting arrested by the cops. He calls his mother to get him money and to help him escape. Victoria begs Bruno to turn himself in, but denies doing that. Alejandro then comes and he and Bruno start to fight. After Bruno threatens Alejandro with a gun, Erik shoots him, and Bruno dies instantly. Maria José and Paula's mother get arrested and put into Federal Prison. Finally, Alejandro and Maria José lives their lives together with their child, as a family forever.

Plot

[edit]
