While Kattaha Mahapatra Brahmins engage in Funeral Activities, Odia Mahapatro/ Mahapatra Brahmins are authorised to conduct Yagna and other Vedic rituals. They perform karm Kand i.e., brotopanoyan, marriage, shraddh ceremony, gruha and mandir pratishtha and receive daan or dakshina.
