== Initial context-setting ==

You started an article that began like this:
:: Blumenthal's zero–one law is a statement about the nature of the beginnings of memoryless processes.
:
That statement does nothing to acquaint the lay reader with the fact that mathematics is what this is about. I expect many readers seeing the term "memoryless processes" would think it's about something in biology, or maybe psychopathology. I changed it so that it says
:: In the mathematical theory of probability, '''Blumenthal's zero–one law''' is a statement about the nature of the beginnings of memoryless processes.
:
In some article there would be no need for that; for example if the article's title is "algebraic group" or "mathematical induction", then the title alone would tell the lay reader that it's not about politics or chemistry or geography.
:
I also set the title phrase in '''bold''' at its first appearance. And changed <math> \cap_{s>0} \mathcal{F}_s\,</math> to <math> \bigcap_{s>0} \mathcal{F}_s.\,</math> Generally \cap is used in things like this:
: <math> A \cap B \quad \text{or}\quad A_1 \cap \cdots \cap A_n \, </math>
and \bigcap in things like this:
: <math> \bigcap_{k=1}^n A_k \, </math>

== Article: Curl (mathematics) ==

The relation you gave:
<math display="block">\nabla \times f = \begin{bmatrix} 0 & -1 & 1 \\ 1 & 0 & -1 \\ -1 & 1 & 0\end{bmatrix} \nabla f </math>
is obviously not correct since <math>\nabla \times f</math> does not make sense (<math>f</math> is not a vector field).

Maybe what you meant was that, ''symbolically'', for
<math>\nabla = \left( {\partial_x}, {\partial_y}, {\partial_z} \right)</math>,
curl can be expressed as:
<math display="block">\begin{bmatrix} 0 & -1 & 1 \\ 1 & 0 & -1 \\ -1 & 1 & 0\end{bmatrix} \nabla = \begin{bmatrix} 0 & -{\partial_y} & {\partial_z} \\ {\partial_x} & 0 & -{\partial_z} \\ -{\partial_x} & {\partial_y} & 0\end{bmatrix}</math>

But this is just a ''notation''. Indeed, del (<math>\nabla</math>) is just a convenient mathematical notation and not a real operator.

[[User:Limorias|Limorias]] ([[User talk:Limorias|talk]]) 09:58, 18 December 2017 (UTC)

Understood. Back when I edited this in I was reading something with an abuse of notation "<math display="inline">\nabla \times f</math>" with <math display="inline">f:\mathbb{R}^n\to \mathbb{R}</math>, where what they meant was that <math display="inline">\{0,1,-1\}</math> matrix I edited in times <math display="inline">f</math>'s gradient. I assumed it was common so I stuck it in there.

[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Kremona, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bulgarian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 13:55, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Kremona

[edit]

The article Kremona has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability: significant RS coverage cannot be found; micro-stub of a promo article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Initial context-setting

[edit]

You started an article that began like this:

Blumenthal's zero–one law is a statement about the nature of the beginnings of memoryless processes.

That statement does nothing to acquaint the lay reader with the fact that mathematics is what this is about. I expect many readers seeing the term "memoryless processes" would think it's about something in biology, or maybe psychopathology. I changed it so that it says

In the mathematical theory of probability, Blumenthal's zero–one law is a statement about the nature of the beginnings of memoryless processes.

In some article there would be no need for that; for example if the article's title is "algebraic group" or "mathematical induction", then the title alone would tell the lay reader that it's not about politics or chemistry or geography.

I also set the title phrase in bold at its first appearance. And changed to Generally \cap is used in things like this:

and \bigcap in things like this:

Article: Curl (mathematics)

[edit]

The relation you gave: is obviously not correct since does not make sense ( is not a vector field).

Maybe what you meant was that, symbolically, for , curl can be expressed as:

But this is just a notation. Indeed, del () is just a convenient mathematical notation and not a real operator.

Understood. Back when I edited this in I was reading something with an abuse of notation "" with , where what they meant was that matrix I edited in times 's gradient. I assumed it was common so I stuck it in there.
