The band was formed in winter 2003 in [[Buffalo, New York]]. The [[Bassist|bass guitarist]], Chris Gangarossa, and the [[keyboardist|keyboard player]], Scott Molloy, began focusing on creating instrumental sound based on rhythms and textures. The band's first album, ''Our Universe is Feeding'', was released in 2004. In late 2005, the group released ''The Pacer'' EP. '''Lazlo Hollyfeld''' is an American [[art-rock]] band formed in the winter of 2003 in Buffalo, NY. Bassist Chris Gangarossa and keyboardist Scott Molloy began by trying to focus on creating a purely instrumental sound based on the ideas of simplicity, and dominant rhythms and textures. After the addition of guitarist Jeff Mcleod and drummer Matt Felski, Lazlo Hollyfeld quickly became one of the most known groups in upstate New York. The groups first release, 2004, "Our Universe Is Feeding" is a raw, one-take-recorded, instrumental journey spanning melodic happiness to lethargic, hypnotic rhythms. In late 2005, the group released, "The Pacer EP", which contains rock songs with a very electronic, soulful and moody feeling. The first track, "Everything You Know Is Gone" is almost breakbeat rock, with its uplifting changes leading to a guitar that screams echos. Th Pacer Ep then changes into something much different. With the heavily electro-inflected "Miss Hong", which then seamlessly blends into the title track, "The Pacer". Lazlo Hollyfeld followed this release with 2 long United States tours, marked by showing their faces @ sxsw, and two nights in a row @ The Boom Boom Room in San Francisco with Mike Clark and Robert Walters. In November 2007 finished recording the third release "Elimination", an energy packed album, with a 70's rock feel, while keeping the bands instrumental and harmonious sound in tact, only, with violence, and anger-driven instrumental themes. The fourth album is called ''Desert'', a concept album of sorts. Release date was May 29, 2010. The band is currently recording a new album.

In November 2007, the band finished recording its third release, ''Elimination'', and the fourth album, ''Desert'', a concept album released on May 29, 2010.

Lazlo Hollyfeld is an American art rock band from Buffalo, New York.[1]

History

The band was formed in winter 2003 in Buffalo, New York. The bass guitarist, Chris Gangarossa, and the keyboard player, Scott Molloy, began focusing on creating instrumental sound based on rhythms and textures. They later added the guitarist, Jeff Mcleod, and the drummer, Matt Felski. The band's name is a reference to the character played by Jon Gries in the 1985 film Real Genius, starring Val Kilmer.

The band's first album, Our Universe is Feeding, was released in 2004. In late 2005, the group released The Pacer EP. Lazlo Hollyfeld played two extended United States concert tours, including appearances at South by Southwest and two nights at The Boom Boom Room in San Francisco with Mike Clark and Robert Walters.
