*'''Support'''. Although I reject the rationale that says that we shouldn't use diacritics anywhere (which might be a good idea, but is not our current policy or practice), in this case it's quite clearcut. It's a shame to see the discussion again cluttered with the same old pro- and con- arguments which seem to come up in every case concerning diacritics. Requested move

[edit]
The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was Move. While the umlaut is acceptable, the fact that many of included entries don't use it indicates that the simplest common form should be used per WP:DABNAME.Cúchullain t/c 12:43, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Doppelgänger (disambiguation)Doppelganger (disambiguation) – In Wikipedia common titles are used, see Wikipedia:Article_titles#Common_names. In English, it is common to drop the umlaut, writing doppelganger. Fluffystar (talk) 13:03, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Internet Useage

[edit]

The term "doppelganger" is also applied to a false person(s) created by one party involved in internet discussion. That party is secretly creating the postings of the doppelganger to substantiate and support his own position in the discussion, thus appearing as though some other, third person, was substantially agreeing with the party.

This is very common useage of the term and deserves mention in the disambiguation. 99.2.69.235 (talk) 16:41, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Doppelgänger Bed Bugs
