Iron Horse's video production class has a TV show called 'Mornings at Iron Horse' which is broadcast throughout the school on Mondays and Fridays. Michelle Cooper has been the Principal of Iron Horse since the 2007-2008 school year after the original principal, Kirby Hoy, took a position as a Director at the district office. However, starting in 2012, Joe Nguyen became Principal. |

In 2013, Iron Horse was again named a California Distinguished School. This was the fourth time Iron Horse has received this award since its opening in 1996. |

Iron Horse has a two story classroom building (20 classrooms), a library with a media center, a learning center, cafeteria (MPR), instrumental and choir music rooms next to the MPR, an outdoor-based environmental science classroom, and fifteen portables in the back of the school. (Although there is an instrumental music program at IHMS, there is no choir program.) The gymnasium is shared with the community center.
