St. Florian was settled by Roman Catholic German immigrants who fled Germany during the [[Kulturkampf]] persecutions of Catholics. The city was apparently named after Florian Rasch. However historians believe the city was named after the patron saint of Firefighters, [[Saint Florian]]. |
