Ryan Lissner (born October 17, 1989 in Elizabeth Vale, South Australia) is said to be the next Len Doof (who is renowned for bringing the Christmas lights trend to Adelaide since the 1980's). From the age of 10, he has been fascinated with building and operating a Christmas lights display.
Ryan is also known for his hypnosis weightloss method which aired on Today Tonight several times in 2005/2006. With the help of hypnotist Graham Quinton and his grandpa Terry Lissner, Ryan has achieved his weightloss goals.

Private life
Ryan grew up in Salisbury East with his Great Grandma Beryl Hueppauff (now deceased) during his infanthood and later moved to live with his Grandparents Terry and Leonie Lissner in 1994. He went to Manor Farm Kindergarten for the first year and a half prior to beginning junior school.

Ryan completed his South Australian Certificate of Education at Tyndale Christian School located in Salisbury East at the end of 2007. In the year 2006, he was recognised to have outstanding typing skills and was presented with the 2006 typing award for the area.

Ryan is now enrolled at Open Universities Australia after finding TAFE SA not being of a high enough standard to help in creating an income.

He enjoys the aromatic aromas of Hot Chocolate when ordering it at the few pubs and clubs he has attended. Although Ryan has been surprised at the awkward response he receives when ordering, he finds sipping on a warm mug a soothing experience when he is at these rather loud venues. Since then, Ryan has conducted extensive surveys and found the price of Hot Chocolate in bars and pubs has increased significantly, with some refusing to serve it, which Ryan has brought forward to the 'Light Up Emerald' committee to find an adequate solution.

Ryan also lives on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) where he pretends he has friends and a life.

Sims Big Brother
Ryan created Sims Big Brother to compensate for his deadbeat personality and hobbies. By voicing his own versions of the Big Brother persona, as well as using basic voice changing software to make robotic-sounding housemates, Ryan has demonstrated how you can frustrate an entire human race who really don't care what he thinks is wrong with Big Brother or if it 'sounds like an election'.

As the tributes flood in, the success of Sims Big Brother is expected to explode, with 10's of users logging on each year (9 of these being Ryan).

Ryans's Christmas Lights
Ryans Christmas Lights has been an annual tradition since 1999, however in recent years has become a year-long project. Like any major Christmas display, it consumes lots of time, effort, and money. Each year the display has become more popular among local residents, although in 2006, the display was titled South Australia's number one display for the year by Network Seven Adelaide. Below is a quick facts table containing information from several years ago to now:

Ryan treats his display as the most important hobby in his life, going as far as trying to connect local displays on Emerald Street together with the introduction of 'Light Up Emerald'. Two winners were picked from this competition - one as the best display chosen by a young child and another at random - each receiving a framed certificate and set of Christmas lights.
