Rikaitch is a Pseudonym for Rik Hughes. (b. 1971). It is a term derived from his time at Southend College, by his main tutor after he botched something to make it work, and then left the botch in place because it worked better. The word is now used as an exclusive Pseudonym for anything regarding him and his world.

The term is still used today in Engineering terms, and to Rikaitch is a verb for almost improving something instead of leaving it to break in the first place.

It is now most widely used in his blog The rather mundane world of the Rikaitch and he is better known as the Welsh arch nemesis to another Blogger Scaryduck. Earlier in life he suffered from Narcolepsy, before being cured in 1996 and now is an authority on the illness, it's effects, and methods of control. He had tried various medications to alleviate the symptoms of cataplexy including Imipramine and the final successful drug Selegiline which is now suspected to deliberately reduce the effects of the body's immune system. This in turn stopped the attack on Orexin, and the symptoms of Narcolepsy were removed. The main downside is the body's immune system doesn't remember the childhood diseases such as mumps or chicken pox, leaving the sufferer susceptible to these illnesses repeatedly.

He hails from the southeast of the UK, mostly from Crystal Palace and Southend on Sea in Essex, where he was at college and the phrase was coined..

He now lives in the hamlet of Rhiwfawr in the Swansea Valley, and is a technical consultant taking on tasks such as PC repair, sound engineering, electronics and programming.
