The eccentric Sonny Joon has hijacked production of the show, which is spiraling out of control as certain contestants are being favored and dangerous missions are being assigned. While competing in a challenge, George is seriously injured and Nancy's other friend Bess must step in to take her place. Nancy, George, and Bess must investigate the incident that caused George's injury as well as why Sonny took charge of the show and what he really plans to do with it.

=== Fatal Errors ===

In each of the games, there are different points where Nancy can make "fatal errors." These points are usually when she blows her cover as a detective or gets seriously injured. At such points, the game will stop and give the player the option to try again before the fatal error occurred. If the player doesn't wish to retry, then the game is over.
*Getting crushed in a landslide
*Getting crushed by the falling décor in Puzzle Palace
*Causing the mines to collapse by mining in the wrong area
*Drowning by not returning to the observatory when the sub warning signal goes off
*Crashing into the stalactites while rafting by not following Sonny's directions
*After hearing Kiri talk while in the earthquake simulator, try it again and don't go underneath the table. It will go out of control and the lamp will hit Nancy.

The Shattered Medallion is the 30th installment in the Nancy Drew point-and-click adventure game series by Her Interactive.[1][2] The game is available for play on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X platforms. It has an ESRB rating of E for moments of mild violence.[3] Players take on the first-person view of fictional amateur sleuth Nancy Drew and must solve the mystery through interrogation of suspects, solving puzzles, and discovering clues.[4][5] There are two levels of gameplay, Amateur and Master sleuth modes, each offering a different difficulty level of puzzles and hints, however neither of these changes affect the plot of the game.
