Filmography

[edit]

This is the filmography of the South Korean girl group Apink. Apink has has been featured in twenty-two music videos and four reality shows television programs. Apink have been in the music business since debuting in 2011 and has appeared in various entertainment show. Prior to their debut, Apink filmed their own documentary reality show that documented Apink journey from their training days until their debut. The show titles Apink News and the first season premiered on March 11, 2011 in channel TrendE. [1] The show takes the form of a half hour news broadcast parody complete with news anchors and an on-site reporter that oversee the proceedings. The news anchors spend a few minutes informing the viewers of current Apink updates then proceed to keep a close eye on the Apink members through their rigorous training for their debut preparation and a special segment to introduce one member in each episode..[2][3] Apink News Season 2 aired from November 25, 2011 until February 2012. In the second season, Apink members replace famous celebrity guests for news anchoring and reporting who did the aforementioned in the preceding season. In the beginning of Season 2, all members declare their goals they want to achieve and continue to fulfill them throughout the show.[4]

Once Apink News season 2 came to an end, Apink News' production team asked for viewers' feedback about the possibility of a new season. Due to high amount of interest, they gathered around 20,000 signatures for the petition which resulted in the production of season 3.[5] Apink News Season 3 was broadcast in June 12 to September 13, 2012. For the third season, Apink members were challenged to be part of the show's production team and transform into writers, camera crew, directors, etc. They were also challenged to cook, learn new languages, and develop new skills in order to show the viewers their process of becoming multi-talented entertainers. Moreover, they revealed their diet regime and bore the responsibility of directing and filming a music video for their track "Cat", from Apink's 1st full-length album Une Annee, under a fixed budget.[1]

In 2012, they also filmed an animal variety program "Birth of Family", a show where the group temporarily take care abandon Dogs before they get adopted. The show features idol groups living with previously abandoned and abused dogs for a few weeks until the animal is adopted by a new family. They're responsible to take care of the dog like a part of their family and to help them recover from their abused trauma The purpose of the show was to raise awareness about animal abuse and abandonment issues. In addition they also hope the show can capture the hearts of citizens and inspire viewers to care about abandoned and homeless animals.[6]

In 2014, Apink chosen as the star for the season 3 of MBC Every1's reality show "Showtime" where the group will show their daily life. 'Apink's Showtime' premiered on August 7, 2014 and aired every Thursday with total of eight episodes.[7]
