Young lovers Yna Macaspac (Kathryn Bernardo) and Angelo Buenavista (Daniel Padilla) are at the heart of Pangako Sa’yo. |
|||
<!-- WHEN IT COMES TO THE SEASON PLOT, DO NOT ADD EVERY DETAIL. JUST THE MAIN IDEA BECAUSE ON THE SEASON PAGE IT ALREADY SHOWS! THANKS. --> |
|||
The story revolves around lovers Yna Macaspac and Angelo Buenavista. Unbeknownst to them, their love story started 20 years earlier between Amor de Jesús and Eduardo Buenavista. Unfortunately, Amor and Eduardo's love will be destroyed because of greed, ambition, and lies. Amor returns to the Philippines as Amor Powers and vows revenge on the Buenavista family which will hurt her biological daughter, Yna, in the process. Meanwhile, Madam Claudia, Angelo's mother, will do anything to destroy Yna and Angelo's relationship and make Yna's life a nightmare. |

Angelo, the rebellious son of a powerful politician, falls in love with Yna, a simple but beautiful adopted daughter of a retired policeman. Unbeknowst to them, their love story is destined to repeat history. |
|||
==Cast and characters== |
|||
20 years ago, Angelo’s father, Eduardo Buenavista (Ian Veneracion), also fell in love with an innocent but headstrong barrio lass named Amor (Jodi Sta. Maria). But their relationship was doomed from the start. Eduardo’s mother, Doña Benita (Pilar Pilapil), despised Amor, as she was an impediment to her plan to marry her son to Claudia (Angelica Panganiban), the illegitimate daughter of Governor Salameda (Leo Rialp). The arranged marriage would have saved their family business, and so Benita did everything to ensure that that happened. And so despite the lovers’ struggle to fight for their love, they eventually succumb to the pressures and machinations. Eduardo is made to believe that Amor betrayed him, by having a relationship with his brother, Diego (Bernard Palanca). And so when Amor tells him she was actually a victim of rape by Diego, Eduardo refused to believe her. He sends her off and marries Claudia Salameda. But for Amor, Eduardo’s greatest betrayal was the bombing of the mines in Talimpao. The tragedy killed her family and her child, Maria Amor (Kathryn Bernardo). |

Unbeknownst to Amor, crossing Yna Macaspac will lead her to the greatest tragedy of her life --- greater than what has befallen her in the past. |

The strict schedule followed during Duterte's proclamation rally factored in the time slot of Pangako Sa 'Yo. - Notes
The strict schedule followed during Duterte's proclamation rally factored in the time slot of Pangako Sa 'Yo. An insider in the Duterte campaign team said the real worry was that Tondo residents would disperse if the duration of the proclamation rally got dangerously close to the time slot of the show.[13] Amor and Claudia have become a collection line under a high-end fashion brand.[14]
Critical reception
[edit]Katrina Stuart Santiago of The Manila Times praised the writers and added, "Suffice it to say that one cannot wait for what else will happen in this Pangako Sa ‘Yo, and that says a lot for someone who actually followed the original version in 2000."[15]
