Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to :Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. RonBot (talk) 18:00, 11 December 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in <span class="plainlinks">this edit</span> to :James Webb Space Telescope, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. <!-- Template:Huggle/warn-delete-1 --><!-- Template:uw-delete1 -->Materialscientist (talk) 00:00, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

This section, about the person, whom the telescope was named after, had grown much larger than most of the sections describing the actual telescope which is the top of the entry. This is not a dispute about the contents. I moved references to footnotes. Fuller presentation really belongs on biography of James Webb, not the telescope.

:I am going to defend WWDanskin here. The content he removed is based on a source from seven years ago, based on inaccurate information. The source, which isn’t listed in WP:RSP, claims that Webb said that “It is generally believed that those who engage in overt acts of perversion lack the emotional stability of normal persons”. However, James Webb never said that! OK, Medium isn’t a reliable source, but The Washington Post is, and they had this to say:
:::Webb’s critics cited since-edited Wikipedia entries, one of which quoted him stating in a report: “It is generally believed that those who engage in overt acts of perversion lack the emotional stability of normal persons.”
:::The history is not so clear-cut. Earlier this year, astrophysicist Hakeem Oluseyi penned an article presenting evidence that Webb did not write the line or the report. The quote, he discovered, came from a 1950 Senate committee report.
:::Citing other examples, Oluseyi argued that there was little to no evidence that Webb was an active participant in the Lavender Scare.
:Point being, WWDanskin was in the right removing a sentence based on that old inaccurate article. It’s important to not have inaccurate information in the Wikipedia. Samboy (talk) 10:04, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Creative Wonders has been reverted.
Your edit here to Creative Wonders was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Let's_Make_a_Word!) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to an external Wiki, then please note that these links should generally not be included (see 'links to avoid' #12).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. December 2021

[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to James Webb Space Telescope, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 00:00, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This section, about the person, whom the telescope was named after, had grown much larger than most of the sections describing the actual telescope which is the top of the entry. This is not a dispute about the contents. I moved references to footnotes. Fuller presentation really belongs on biography of James Webb, not the telescope.

I am going to defend WWDanskin here.
Webb’s critics cited since-edited Wikipedia entries, one of which quoted him stating in a report: “It is generally believed that those who engage in overt acts of perversion lack the emotional stability of normal persons.”
The history is not so clear-cut. Earlier this year, astrophysicist Hakeem Oluseyi penned an article presenting evidence that Webb did not write the line or the report. The quote, he discovered, came from a 1950 Senate committee report.
Citing other examples, Oluseyi argued that there was little to no evidence that Webb was an active participant in the Lavender Scare.
Point being, WWDanskin was in the right removing a sentence based on that old inaccurate article. It’s important to not have inaccurate information in the Wikipedia. Samboy (talk) 10:04, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: 1-2-3 Scream! (March 6)

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Asilvering was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: This book won't be out for at least another six and a half months! It might not meet notability guidelines then either (see WP:NBOOK for the specific book criteria), but it certainly won't be able to meet them until then.
