If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

• To list a technical request: the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

  This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
• If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
• If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

  There was a discussion at Talk:Khodaafarin Bridges#Common name in February 2023 which led to the current name. Although that wasn't a formal RM, it had a small consensus amongst two participants and was almost two years ago, so I'd probably label this one as potentially controversial.   We can't ping IPs, but if whoever made this request is checking this page, you will need to use the "discuss" button in your request to continue with the move.   I'm not particularly seeing evidence that that is the official name, still less the common name. It actually seems like simply Asian Team Championships is the name generally used, without mentioning squash in the title at all, so I'd probably favour a move to that since it's not ambiguous with anything else of that name.  — Amakuru (talk) 19:57, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

  WP:OFFICIALNAMES is not a valid reason to move this article. Please could we have some actual evidence? I'm a little confused what "Syria(n) TV" actually is, anyway. The article says it's a channel, but it seems like it might be more of a network. Also conscious that "Syrian TV" could be a wider term referencing TV in the country generally.  — Amakuru (talk) 11:51, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

• John the Baptist in Islam → Yahya ibn Zakariya (currently a redirect back to John the Baptist in Islam) (move · discuss) – He has a name in Arabic and it should be used. Nobody knows him by "John the Baptist" in Islam. I would argue that "John the Baptist in Islam" violates WP:NPOV Abo Yemen✉ 12:06, 17 December 2024 (UTC)

  I object to this move for two reasons:

  1. You have not established that this fulfills our requirement to use the most common names from English-language sources,
  2. It appears to violate WP:CONSISTENT, since we also have God in Islam, Jesus in Islam, Zechariah in Islam, etc.

• Mandalorian (character) → The Mandalorian (character) (currently a redirect back to Mandalorian (character)) (move · discuss) – This page was recently moved from ‘The Mandalorian (character)’ by Frosty with no actual real discussion or WP:CONSENSUS at the talk page bar a single ‘Support per OP’ vote, the talk-page proposer making a false inferred claim that it had been moved without discussion ‘a while back’ — which was actually four years ago. The character is never called just ‘Mandalorian but specifically ‘The Mandalorian’ — the ‘The’ is part of their title, while ‘Mandalorian (character)’ without the ‘The’ can disambiguate to numerous other Star Wars characters. A new discussion should be opened at talk for an actual detailed discussion this time around, like four years ago, so I am requesting that the page be moved back for now so that I can open a proper discussion and get actual WP:CONSENSUS on whether or not to move.   Per above, consider opening another move discussion. I just want to emphasize the fact that RMs with one Support vote were closed as moved in the past, so there Is no reason to move it back, in my opinion. ToadetteEdit (talk) 18:32, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
