== The history section is really awkward, and there needs to be more on Hurricane Maria. == |

== Typo == |

Hurricane Maria is a major event in Puerto Rico's history, yet there's only a single mention of it, and in the weather section of all places. |
|||
In the third paragraph, “overseas” should be “oversees” 2600:1008:B0CA:794E:1429:AACB:FED5:1281 (talk) 23:44, 6 October 2024 (UTC) |

More broadly, due to the awkward structure of the history section, there's no way to easily add references to recent events. The statehood question should be split into a separate section, and history section should focus on just that, the history of Puerto Rico. Surely there's more to Puerto Rico than whether or not it becomes a state? 183.83.82.167 (talk) 15:46, 27 September 2017 (UTC) |

I agree. There should be a major section on Maria, with a possible link to it's own page and possibly put both arguments regarding the efforts to help PR- one being that it is slow and the political corruption, followed by what the president of US and the governor of PR believes that good efforts are being made. We should also edit that page on a daily basis considering that this is a recent thing and many people do not understand the severity of this situation. Considering it's been a month I thought it would have more than a sentence. I will also get on this as well. |

As for the political status you are right, it should have it's own section and only have brief mentions of it (like the referendums and the political party). But I also think that because this is an important, controversial and very prominent topic in PR I guess that's why they put it there. |
