Esch played youth football in the Carrollton Youth Football League (CYFL), at Blalack Middle School, Creekview High School, and Bethel College. While at Creekview, he was named honorable mention all-district in 2018 and 2019. He was almost named Academic All-State by the Texas High School Coaches Association in 2019. While at Bethel, he served as Editor-in-Chief of The Bethel Collegian, the campus student-run newspaper, from 2022-2024. |

Esch played youth football in the Carrollton Youth Football League (CYFL), at Blalack Middle School, Creekview High School, and Bethel College.
