Why is this article not just called 'NASCAR Truck Series'?
Sponsor names are ephemeral and not really relevant to the subject matter. Pretty much every independent source (for example, Autosport) I've seen refers to this series as the "Truck Series" without the sponsor. Therefore I would assume that NASCAR Truck Series is WP:COMMONNAME. Keeping the sponsor name may be reasonable for individual seasons, for example 1996 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series or 2020 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, but as an overview of the entire history of the championship it's at best confusing (the sponsor names make it sound like they could be racing motor homes) and needlessly complicated and at worst makes me wonder if it's possible some sponsor is engaging in undisclosed astroturfing to try and use Wikipedia to promote their product. I am aware that in the case of the second tier series there isn't an obvious unambiguous way to refer to the article without using a sponsor name, but in this case there obviously is one. Even if NASCAR were running some other obscure series which uses pickup trucks, this would still clearly be the primary topic. Why is this article not just called 'NASCAR Truck Series'?

[edit]

2A02:C7F:DC08:9000:514F:3A7:8D8D:C406 (talk) 18:28, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rules Section

[edit]

This is really hard to grasp. It's basically a completely differential set of paragraphs, presumably relying on NASCAR rules knowledge? You have to read everything and maintain the rule set changes in your head, and then, as a person not familiar with NASCAR rules at all, after reading the whole section I still have NO idea what the current rule set is, how the races are structured, how pit stops are done etc. currently. 2021 article doesn't help, because it also only has a diff to the previous year under rules. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:16B8:2C43:9A00:B22A:B6B0:50E4:BA12 (talk) 09:10, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If anything is too confusing, don't be afraid to try to clarify things yourself. As a NASCAR fan, I have little issue reading the section (though I will also point out that it's outdated and that needs to be fixed accordingly) but I can see why someone would be confused. NASCAR isn't exactly known for its understandability in rules in recent times either. ZappaOMatic (alt) 14:44, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The 2022 season is still ongoing, so the series is still called the Camping World Truck Series. Wait until 2023 actually arrives or at least until this season ends in November. ZappaMatic 17:09, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How about we just title this page NASCAR Truck Series and we won't have to change it constantly? I feel like we are doing the work of the advertisers here.  Mr.choppers | ✎  02:27, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
