Bagdad is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Rosa County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,467 at the 2020 census, up from 3,761 at the 2010 census. It is part of the PensacolaFerry PassBrent, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Bagdad had its start in 1840, when a settler established a sawmill there.[4] The community was named after Baghdad, Iraq.[5][failed verification] A post office called Bagdad has been in operation since 1887.[6]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.2 square miles (11 km2), of which 3.5 square miles (9.1 km2) is land and 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2) (16.98%) is water.

The area was hard hit by Hurricane Dennis in 2005.
