If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

• If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

IUCN Red List calls it "Oxynoemacheilus galilaeus". What gives Eschmeyer priority? The article doesn't even mention Nun galilaeus (except in an infobox and as one of several names in a navbox). —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 05:33, 6 December 2024 (UTC)

• CD El Ejido → CP El Ejido (currently a redirect back to CD El Ejido) (move · discuss) – This team has had their name changed for some time, finally recovering the "Poli" moniker, so i think it's only fair that the team article starts to use the name that it goes by now.   I do. There's an article talking about the name change in detail. The club's page has algo updated the name, and it's also on it's X (twitter) account.

  I assume the new name is also present on the RFEF official tables.

  @Bodeseven, a full RM might be the best option. They are definitely Polideportivo now, but it's hard to see the abbreviation CP used anywhere. It's not in the news article, and the new website has a few different forms. The badge this year uses C. Pvo. Ejido, and in the text "Poli Ejido" is the short form used. It's also confusing that both websites are still active, and if the full name were used, the page for the former club would need to move or merged (if they finally actually did merge given the adoption of the old badge?). -2pou (talk) 09:16, 7 December 2024 (UTC)

  They didn't merged. AFAIK Poli El Ejido 1969 (previously named El Ejido 2012) is a different club to Poli Ejido, which dissapeared in 2012; They bought the rights to use the old badge, even though it's not indicative of the name it currently has.

  I proposed moving the page to "CP El Ejido" as a short, temporary solution to represent the name change somewhat accurately.

• Matacoan languages → Mataguayan languages (currently a redirect back to Matacoan languages) (move · discuss) – Mataguayan is the name of the family in non-English languages, and the vast majority in English as well.   100% of the English-language sources cited in the article use the term "Mataco" and "Matacoan", and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) says that we should "use the version of the name of the subject that is most common in the English language, as you would find it in reliable sources".   There are only three sources on the page, and two use Matacoan. The majority of papers out there are using Mataguayan however. The sourcing on the page isn't fantastic either, not that the sources are bad, but there are newer more accurate sources that better reflect the consensus. I can predict that this is going to come down to demonstrating the commonality of Mataguayan though. What would the actual bar for that be? There is already an RM for Võro language. Meanwhile, Mulgi dialect had a {{db-move}} declined, saying that it may be potentially controversial – such that an RM should be opened (a discussion, that is; not a technical request). If someone declines a bold move, the next step shouldn't be to ask again here, but rather to open an RM discussion. @Kwamikagami: You can open an RM by clicking "discuss" on your request.   @The G Wikian: There are many articles in Category:National anthems that don't use a national anthem's foreign-language name, so this wouldn't create greater consistency. Per the policy on foreign-language titles, we follow the most common name in English-language sources.   I agree that this needs at least a discussion, and would lean toward no move. If anything, the Northern Mariana Islands' at-large congressional district article should be moved. Of all the jurisdictions ending in "s" in that category, it is the only one not conforming to Strunk & White's Elements of Style and Chicago Manual of Style guidelines. You'd have to move Arkansas's at-large congressional district, Texas's at-large congressional district, Philippines's at-large congressional district, Illinois's at-large congressional district, and Massachusetts's at-large congressional district also.
